Re: Obama: Republicans Counting On Blacks Staying Home

Isn't it true that Republicans prefer blacks to stay home on election day?

    1. Blacks tend heavily Democrat.
    2. Republicans don't want Democrats to receive votes.
    3. It is not plausible black voters will reverse their loyalty to the Republicans.
    4. Therefore Republicans prefer blacks to stay home on election day, as opposed to going out and voting for Democrats.

Note that people are criticizing Obama for making a comment which provokes certain whites, rather than criticizing him for lying.

It is basically the same as if someone had said, "I hope southerners stay home", "I hope northerners stay home", "I hope the rich/poor stay home" etc. Certain demographics will vote a certain way and there is nothing wrong with recognizing that. Just because the demographic is identified by race doesn't mean much of anything really.

Democrats are hoping white, southern Christians stay home this election day.

They'd be idiots to not hope that.

I think the fact that Obama mentioned blacks (race) brings up race bating. I think Obama and Democrats should be held accountable for their race baiting. Instead all they do is fingerprint and call Republicans racist (not all Dems, just the far left partisans). Obama is out of line to lie like this.

It's kind of odd isn't it? How quickly some Republicans are willing to say 'Democrats pander to minorities and the poor.' Then say with the same face that their party doesn't pander to the mostly white Southern evangelical demographic of the U.S. - So who do Republicans pander to? It's obviously not minorities. It's not the poor. It's not college students. So who do they pander to? Who do Republicans hope will stay home on election day?

Can you prove it? Let's look at the truth. Would Republicans benefit if blacks stayed home? Most likely because they overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Does that mean they want them to stay home? Most likely not. Obama can't prove that Republicans want that, he can't point to a quote from Republican leadership that says the party wishes blacks would stay home. It's a false accusation of racism. Also, notice how Obama didn't mention white males or Christians. Does that indirectly mean he doesn't want people like me from voting? Obama spoke dishonestly and was being a race baiter.

YES. It's called AN ELECTION. You want the other party to stay home AND NOT VOTE SO THAT YOU CAN WIN.

Let's look at the truth. Would Republicans benefit if blacks stayed home?
Yes. If 10% of the population stays home, a 10% of which 95% of regularly votes Democrat, that's a LOSS for Democrat. This is simple math.

Does that mean they want them to stay home?
Yes. It's called an election. We've gone over this already.

Obama can't prove that Republicans want that,
If Republicans want to win, they are of COURSE hoping the main voting blocks of Democrats stay home. Seriously. Do you know anything about politics? How do you win an election? Gaining the most votes.

he can't point to a quote from Republican leadership that says the party wishes blacks would stay home.
Is this a joke? Seriously are you not focusing on anything that is being said?

It's a false accusation of racism.
No. It's not. Learn the definition of racism. Obama made a reference to the VOTING BLOCKS OF DEMOCRATS. That you feel like you're being accused of being racist is very telling.

Also, notice how Obama didn't mention white males or Christians.
BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT A DEMOCRATIC VOTING BLOCK. He did however mention Unions, college students. What? No white christian males there?

Does that indirectly mean he doesn't want people like me from voting? Obama spoke dishonestly and was being a race baiter.
Aren't you a Republican? So then yes. He wants you to stay home.

Listen digsbe, we can go back and forth all day about this but in the end you're being ridiculously dishonest. I assume that that the fact that you didn't address his reference to college students and union members means you don't think either of these groups have white Christian males in them. The reality is that a party will always want the main voting groups in another party to stay home. This is politics 101. Not racism. Get real please?

it's not racism at all, and it wasn't a bit dishonest. and of course obama didn't mention white males, they tend to voter republican, so why would republicans want them to stay home?

what exactly is your definition of racism?
