So How Did the Bush Tax Cuts Work Out for the Economy?

Hey, pbrauer, how is that hope and change working out for you, a Republican leading in Oregon for Governor? Getting the message yet?

Yeah, he's leading right now and may win. However, Kitzhaber is closing fast and with 25% of Multnomah County (Portland and Highly Democratic) yet to be counted he could very well win.

I don't count my chickens before they're hatched.

Let's see if the people of Oregon remain insane, voting for the same policies and people over and over again expecting different results. Results really don't seem to matter to ideologues.

I thought it was typical insantiy, 14.4% unemployment and they re-elect the Senate Majority leader who helped implement the policies that led to that high unemployment. That is the definition of insanity. The people of Nevada deserve everything they get.

This is how Reid won

LAS VEGAS — A lawyer for Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle has filed a complaint with the Justice Department alleging illegal voter intimidation on behalf of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's campaign.

The complaint is based on an article, which appeared Tuesday morning in National Review, that alleged Reid's campaign worked with sympathetic executives to put pressure on union casino employees to vote.

Supervisors were instructed to track down employees who hadn't voted and find out why, according to e-mails obtained by reporter and conservative blogger Elizabeth Crum.

i believe i told you awhile back, that reid would keep his seat...the people of nevada are not going to cut their own throats...like him or hate him, harry brings home the bacon to his state..that seat will be his until such time as he steps down and chooses not to run, or until he dies.

Guess 14.4% unemployment is a good thing in Nevada. Doesn't really matter to me what the people of Nevada did, I am extremely happy what my home state of Ohio did and all the Midwest including Pa. did. That is a powerful message. Obama's old Senate seat? Wow, that is huge

if i were you, i wouldnt count on ohio staying red for any length of time...the state is middle of the road, and tends to go back and forth...hence the term of ohio being a 'bellweather' state...

The people of Ohio showed that results matter not the rhetoric. Obama visited Ohio, how many times? I plan on Ohio getting back to the Ohio I remember, strong economically. Strickland, YOU'RE FIRED!

And progressives tout that as an achievement or what? Good job.

Someday "Progressives" will be fully unmasked for the killers of freedom they are.

j-mac

J-mac, please let me know which party was in complete control of both the Senate and House in 2004? Big hint: It wasn't the Democratic party.

kasich won't be around for long unless things improve at an unrealistic pace in the state....we all want a quick recovery, and we want it NOW!! that is what explains the republicans having a good night last night...i've said it before, i'll say it again, the recovery won't be overnight, and in two years, if things havent progressed dramatically toward said recovery, you could see the tide turn in a dramatic way back to the dems...

That's how many feel about Grassely in Iowa. Why I voted for hinm many times. Not this yeaqr mind you, but often in the past.

I see that Texas is facing a $25 billion deficit, so I really don't know what you're talking about.

So we have been told by people who are experts on TX without even being here. Where are you going to be when that "projection" is proven wrong?

We have a 25 billion dollar budget gap here in Texas.

for Texans, that is mere pocket change, easily ignored or swept under the rug....Texans are not immune to political stupidity, we got a Bush from there once...remember?

Prove it! The legislature hasn't even met yet and there are projections all over the board. Apparently you don't know how the govt. of TX works. You prefer to believe the negative numbers whereas I will wait for the facts. Seems that the people of TX aren't too concerned about projections.

LOL, yep, wonder how many more businesses are going to move to TX from California and other high tax states run by Democrats. We appreciate the tax revenue they bring with them.

You mean like the people in Florida who keep voting Republican despite the fact that they have one of the worst housing markets in the US?

Been there done that all you do is blather the same old tired rhetoric.

No, what you have done is state projections that haven't been proven as fact, you do a lot of that. What is factual is Perry won and the TX legislature has more Republicans. If there is a deficit it will be handled by spending cuts.

idiot old people. they soak in the fear.

As I recall, Florida was a blue state after the 2008 elections.

Does that explain why Texas is the fifth poorest state in the nation? Don't worry, mine is 10th and they always vote Republican, too.

TX sits on the Mexican border, ever been down here? I wouldn't put too much faith in any polls that rank states from rich to poor. I prefer quality of life and cost of living.
