CNN Poll: Was Bush better president than Obama? – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

(CNN) - Americans are divided over whether President Barack Obama or his predecessor has performed better in the White House, according to a new national poll.

And a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday also indicates in the battle for Congress, Republicans hold large advantages over the Democrats among independents, men and blue-collar whites. The poll also indicates that Republicans are much more enthusiastic than Democrats to vote.

By 47 to 45 percent, Americans say Obama is a better president than George W. Bush. But that two point margin is down from a 23 point advantage one year ago.

"Democrats may want to think twice about bringing up former President George W. Bush's name while campaigning this year," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

Looks like a few people out there would like a do-over on Obama.

You still can't really answer that question since President Obama's term isn't over yet.

Does that mean Bush was a better president than the left cares to admit or is Obama just that bad?

Personally, I prefer to think that most of the faults of the Bush2 Administration could be blamed more on Cheney and Rumsfeld and other politicians of the GOP than on Bush. I think much of where Bush went wrong was because he was getting bad counsel from his advisors. I don't know how much history will look into that aspect of his presidency, though.

We are going by the CNN poll

Point still stand it is a stupid question and poll. You can't judge and compare a presidency to another one when it isn't even over yet.

The socialists didn't have any problem answering it while Bush was in office.

Do I need to repeat myself?

At least Bush will not point fingers at others and blame others the way Obama does

Hell yes, Obama is a rank amateur who has no clue what the ***k he's dining. He has made nothing but mistakes from the day he took office with the help of dead peoples votes, and illegals courtesy of ACORN.

You can compare the two at the same point of each president.

You can compare the two at the same point of each president.

Only if they have similar situations. Bush started off poorly, but got a boost from a good beginning effort at ahndling 9/11. This boosted his popularity. then he lost his maind and wasted alll the good will he had, at home and abroad.

Do I need to repeat myself?

First off time stamps are your friend. If you would have looked at them you would have seen that we posted at the same time so I never saw your first question. Secondly, what you said STILL doesn't change the fact it is a stupid question and poll because President Obama's term isn't up yet. Plus what are you comparing President Bush's first term or his second?

You mean like he did blaming Clinton for everything during his presidency? Or did he even leave that to his underlings?

You can compare the two at the same point of each president.

You really can't because they came into power at two different situations. You can't judge them based off of their first year because President Bush's numbers were inflated because of 9/11. What needs to happen is people wait until both men have been out of office for a while and then you can compare them.

The point is Obama is doing so bad he makes Bush look good

I think Bush did it very rarely compared to Obama doing it most days

You mean Bush handled his crisis better than Obama is doing

Then you weren't paying attention. One of the largest criticism with Bush was that he rarely if ever took responsibility. Eight years after he was first elected, it was all still Clinton's fault. Obama has a while to catch up with that.

Really. What quotes do you have to back that up?
