    Useless info.

It doesn't take into consideration the 3.5 million jobs the stimulus package will save by the end of the year... According to the CBO.

Can you show me on the Bureau of Labor Statistics site where those saved jobs are recorded? Why do you continue to buy what you are told by the Congressional Budget Office when the CBO only reports what the Congress gives them? I just don't understand the cult following that liberalism has as you buy what you are told and never seem to question the rhetroic. Many of the jobs "saved" were bailouts of union employees that wouldn't have actually lost their jobs but instead would have lost their union contracts, hardly the same thing.

Not at all clear. I would argue voters are upset because they did listen. Take health care, if 1/3 what less, and 1/3 want more, meaning 2/3 were unhappy, what they got not would reflect that divison and show listening, which is why neither extreme is happy. The same can be done looking at those who want the government to spend more and those who them to not spend at all. Obama has fallen largely between those extremes. So, I don't see anything to suggest that is clear at all.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

So, you're saying that people voted the Dems out, because they want the Reps to come in and be more Liberal?

I'm just not reading things that way...

You look at it through a particualr prism, influenced by your own bias. But, yes, people were merely unhappy. And the exit polling was very uneven. Republican who won are a little smarter, and know damned well they have no such mandate as you suggest. So, they will actually be more tentative than you may like.

So Obama had a mandate when he won but know that does not apply to the GOP. That is ridiculous.

If you look very conservative GOP won not moderates. That shows the voters want Obamacare gone and very conservative policies put in place.

First, I never said Obama had a mandate. This country is divided nearly down the middle, so I would claim a mandate by anyone. Second, I find the exit polling important in deciding exactly what people want. I believe some 30 somthing percent wanted the government to spend less, and 30 something wanted the government to spend more, and another 30 something thought it was just right now. The numbers are largely the same on health care. How you do what the people want with those numbers escapes me. Perhaps there is a rational you use to decide?

You can have all the opinions you want. The left said when Obama was elected he had a mandate because he had a majority of the vote. Now they say this election does not give the GOP a mandate. Shows the hypocrisy and double standard of your democrats brothers.

As for why this election went to the GOP it was because of Healthcare, the out of control spending and a deficit that is growing faster than anytime in history. Then again most do not like the way it looks we are headed to a socialist police state.

This election was not just on the fed level but the GOP made great gains in state elections also.
