Re: Warren Buffett: Raise Taxes On The "Very Rich"

Buffett is a weird one. He's taught me more about investing than anyone, though I have to say I was always a bit confused why someone would want to enter a market that where the prices were going ballistic.

Buffett says... don't go outside your circle of competence, and that knowing the edge of that circle is paramount to investing success. yet he wants incompetent government to run more and more. I'd sure love to hear him say Government is a pig and should be slaughtered... but we don't.

He also believes investors should be able to buy stocks and then not look at the ticker... for years. And that we shouldn't go in and out of the market because the trader and tax man will profit. Lord knows he doesnt pay a penny more than he must... but if government were so great, why not give more annually, and why not give his billions to government instead of The Gates Foundation.

He's also notorious for saying NO. For example, he won't make a $1.00 bet with a $10,000 return on a hole in one, because he figures the odds are too low and the dollar can be better invested elsewhere. Yet he pushes for government to take more, and as we all know... government is anything but efficient.

Why he would want to cash out of the public sector with higher taxes, where they create jobs, and when these jobs elevate wages... creating more revenue... and why I have never heard him say cut and gut government is beyond me.

I read his annual reports with relish... and anything I could get my hands on years ago... he's obviously a brilliant investor... but his politics are as strange as his investing is brilliant.

I think he wants to be liked and loved and spewing idiotic crap that really doesn't hurt him (he won't pay estate taxes and he can afford huge income tax hikes but those also caught up in the class warfare-envy of the dems cannot) will make him popular with the low wattage liberals.

He also is dishonest-that crap he spews about his secretary is possible only with his manipulation of his own compensation.

taxes should not be withheld but people should pay quarterly taxes as I do on much of my income and one of the payments should be the week before elections.
30% cut in welfare check should do the trick.

We get it. You hate poor people. Anyone on welfare must be lazy or stupid.

No they are not stupid or lazy. Most people on welfare are fraudsters. They let us the taxpayers pay for everything while they work on the side saving money paying no taxes. And then once they are off welfare they buy a 300,000 dollar home in its entirety. And that does not include what they buy for the inside of the house. But really the only way to make these fraudsters disappear is to get tough on them. Sadly our government has no balls because it does not want to loose voters or people with a rightous call like yourself who want to hand out money. Please hand out your own but not that of mine or anyone else who does not want to pay.

welfare is actually more destructive of the poor than telling them they ought stop depending on the government

Deuce thinks telling addicts to quit shooting smack is hateful and giving them a fix is charity
