You're only saying that, because my rally kicked the dog **** out of your rally. :rofl

Going to post the pics in another thread so as not to derail this one too much with huge pictures.

There were people with Cameras all over the outside borders of the Rally. I didn't even bother to try to get ONTO the mall.

From what little I could hear, and it was little...the speaker system sucked...it didn't seem like Stewart and Colbert were making it political.

However their fans did not exactly do a good job of hearing Stewarts message about the point of this event. I'd say in regards to signs there that I saw the make up would be about 40% humerous/neutral, 55% Left Leaning, and about 5% of right leaning signs. Hardly "non-partisan" on the part of the supporters of it.

As far as conspiracy nuts, I did see both 9/11 truthers and "Palin didn't really have the baby" people. As far as "hateful" rhetoric you had signs of Palin being called a "teatard" and Christine O'Donnell being called a **** (The c word) as well as one calling her a crazy bitch. Not to mention "**** Glenn Beck" and a sign depicting the Republicans as the devil.

There were some very humerous ones as well. I enjoyed one with a picture of hitler and under it said "Hitler was Hitler!". I also enjoyed "What do we want? Moderation. When do we want it? In a reasonable time frame!" Also a number of "MY SIGN IS VERY LARGE" and other variations of it. Quite a lot of them gave me a good laugh.

I'll try to get some pictures up soon.

I was about a football field length away from the last set of TVs (which I could barely see). And the sound sucked up until they sang the "Star Spangled Banner". I could barely hear anything the Mythbusters were saying. But doing the wave was pretty sweet. I can't wait to see the video of it.

I can imagine you couldn't hear or see anything further back. They defiantly should have had another 10 TVs and speaker sets.

Maybe 5-10% of the people attending actually had signs or dressed up. But of those with signs, I'd say your percentages are about right. Still, I didn't give the extreme ones too much attention. The extreme on the left are just as bad as the extreme on the right... or the extreme in any direction for that matter.

It'd be impossible to say how the entire crowd split politically. But I'll guess most people ranged from middle to left leaning.

I didn't see any right-leaning signs though. What did they say?

I saw some hilarious signs and costumes too. I'll be posting them in the next few days.

.........and......your point is?

By the way, we were extremely packed together. I wouldn't have been able to bend over to tie my shoes if I needed to. It took me around 30 minutes just to walk a block and a half.... no joke.

I saw one guy that didn't have a right leaning sign, but had a right leaning shirt (His sign was a chuck norris sign). I saw a small handful of supportive tea party signs. That was about it.

I was actually relatively far up, but I was on the outside of the actual mall (closer to the various museums, on the other side of the portapotty's), so I could HEAR that they were talking I just couldn't make it out too much.

I left at about 2:00 though. I had no clue WHO was on stage during it all.

I would say you're probably right about it being mostly middle to left leaning people there. And the majority of the "right" people there were your libertarian types that were more focused on legalizing pot then anything else (saw a crap ton of legalize pot signs). I'd definitely say that 20-30's accounted for at least 50% or more of the people there

Yeah I left around 2 also. I was exhausted and I figured we'd get a better view watching it online or on TV, but I can't find the online video that Comedy Central recorded and we don't have Com Central in our hotel. Cspan has a video of the rally but it is all from one camera angle.

Could you hear us shouting "louder, louder, louder!" ?

Also I kept hearing random cheering from the left side... do you know what that was about?

One area of the crowd started cheering "Yes you can! Yes you can!" as someone tried climbing a tree

There were a lot of legalize it signs. But they should, so it's all good

Didn't hear the louder louder.

I was on the right side so no clue.

I managed to get involved in starting a slow clap in the L'Enfant metro station on my way there. One guy was like "I want to start a slow clap" and began clapping, then his friends began clapping, then I started clapping along with a few around, and before we knew it half the metro station was breaking out into a clap. Slow Clap FTW

I didn't realize you were a size queen. Haven't you ever heard the old saying: "It's not the size that matters, it's what you do with it." ? Regardless, I hope you do realize that you are getting into a dick measuring contest with a comedy-themed and satirical rally. Did you not see a good portion of the hilarious protest signs that were actually in the spirit of the rally itself?

The dick measuring contest started, with the Libbos, quite a while back, my friend. In this case, it started with the whining about FNC sarcastically claiming that there were only 7 people at the rally.

Nie try, though.

So you are just as bad as the "Libbos" who started it. At least you are admitting it.

I do not understand what is so funny about Jon Stewart & Colbert. They are not funny. The only guy I find funny nowadays is Dave Attel. He makes me laugh to the point where I am in tears.

Based upon all I've seen about the Stewart/Colbert rally, this picture comparison from the Gateway Pundit appears to be fraudulent. My guess is that the picture on the right was taken hours before the festivities got underway. I just heard on the radio the crowd stretched for 16 blocks.

I can't figure out if the interviewers in this video are joking around or if they are trying to be another version of Media Matters? Either way this video reminded me of the liberal interviews I saw of the people at all the Glenn Beck rallies.

No one would claim all Americans are geniuses.

Here's another one I came across:

It made me laugh :D

Where do you get your news from? .... "Daily Show", "Daily Show", "Jon Stewart"

Besides Jon Stewart who do you think has done a good job covering? ... "Keith Olbermann", "MSNBC", "Huffington Post", "MSNBC", "MSNBC"

Wooooow

:applaud

Also there was only one entrance to the rally, they're photos of different sites as well. People were still pouring in when the rally started. There were definitely more than expected the speakers weren't numerous or large enough for the crowd either.

Found an awesome SATELLITE IMAGE of the rally supplied by Geoeye.

It's a big image, so wait for it to load...

I'm convinced there were more than 212,000 people there, but we'll never know... besides those being crunched together as closely as possible, those who couldn't hear or see anything sometimes branched off into other buildings (bars, museums, etc) to watch the rally on TV.

does anyone really give a crap which rally was bigger? Isn't the message of a ralley more important than how many people did or did not attend?
