It's Official Jon Stewart & Colbert will host a rally on October 30th in DC

Maybe I'm missing something, but what exactly is the attraction of this thing? It's going to be a bunch of self-satisfied yuppies sniffing their own farts and congratulating themselves on being smarter than everyone else.

Which makes it a political rally. Complaining because a political rally is going to be just like a political rally is silly. Tea parties are the same way, Beck rallies the same, and this will be the same...except with jokes and humor and a less extreme point of view.

Except that she does not think that, which kinda makes the claim of irony pure :failpail:

The fail my gender neutral friend is all yours, Folks like the thread starter and his ilk claim that folks like the tea party is what is "destroying America" usually it much more idiotic and vulgar terms, Other than calling Palin a whore I believe, I think yourstar is a rather civil and nice addition to this forum even if, like you, is usually wrong on most issues...

The bucket, is not needed here. :pimpdaddy:

And your reply was at Your Star. I am sure you can show where she did this...

I did not start this thread, but one like it. You seem to be pointing a finger at people undeserving of your accusations since you obviously see me as "ilk". I've never said the TP is destroying America or have called Palin a whore (unless you consider calling someone a media whore that is).
:rantoff:

I will make myself available for your apology. :peace

I don't know you so I don't know if you are of the partisan hack's "ilk"

i don't consider Redress or yourstar "partisan hacks" even though I disagree with thier politics, is a certain group of hypocritical mouthfoamers I take issue with.

If you wish to lump yourself in with that type, then your onto something, if not, you'll be better off.

You can go pound you some sand, hero. :pimpdaddy:

Note: i did incorrectly reference the thread starter, instead of folks like Hazlnut who has mouthfoamed all over this thread. and for that, I do apologize to Jucon who seems to be of sound mind.

The cover of humor, I suppose. Plus it's Stewart and Colbert, who are not short of fans.

But otherwise, yeah.

For the 8/28 rally, people came from all over the country and even out of the country. I don't really feel the effects of the economic times at all, so I'm sure there are others out there like me.

Will they come to this one? Not sure. It's just a gathering to make fun of Glenn Beck and tea parties, right? I suppose some people would drive across the country to see that.....

They seem to have a lot of fans and wouldn't this be a rare thing for them to do? They may get a good sized crowd.

I wonder how much they are charging? What charity are they donating to? How will we know if the charity really gets the money? Do they have a place to donate on a website? "Fear" ? What does that mean? Are they afraid of something? Global Warming? Have they lost their fear?
I'm sorry...I just have so many questions.

Well, I certainly know you a little better now. You take no responsibility for your words.

Who among us has not wanted to open their window and shout that at the top of their lungs?

Seriously, who?

Because we're looking for those people. We're looking for the people who think shouting is annoying, counterproductive, and terrible for your throat; who feel that the loudest voices shouldn't be the only ones that get heard; and who believe that the only time it's appropriate to draw a Hitler mustache on someone is when that person is actually Hitler. Or Charlie Chaplin in certain roles.

Are you one of those people? Excellent. Then we'd like you to join us in Washington, DC on October 30 -- a date of no significance whatsoever -- at the Daily Show's "Rally to Restore Sanity." Ours is a rally for the people who've been too busy to go to rallies, who actually have lives and families and jobs (or are looking for jobs) -- not so much the Silent Majority as the Busy Majority. If we had to sum up the political view of our participants in a single sentence... we couldn't. That's sort of the point.

Think of our event as Woodstock, but with the nudity and drugs replaced by respectful disagreement; the Million Man March, only a lot smaller, and a bit less of a sausage fest; or the Gathering of the Juggalos, but instead of throwing our feces at Tila Tequila, we'll be actively *not* throwing our feces at Tila Tequila. Join us in the shadow of the Washington Monument. And bring your indoor voice. Or don't. If you'd rather stay home, go to work, or drive your kids to soccer practice... Actually, please come anyway. Ask the sitter if she can stay a few extra hours, just this once. We'll make it worth your while.

Keep checking back for updates and rally information.

Sounds like the tea parties to me. They see how successful it has been so they want to create their own.
