U.S. Soldier Waterboards 6 Year Old Foster Child For Wetting His Bed!

Oh yeah I forgot there is no one as good as you marines.

Depends on the job, but let's not get into that. History wouldn't be kind. But why is it that soldiers ,especially, have a hard time dealing with their problems and default to reflecting sarcasm? I'm pretty sure you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's your branch. You've got generals in the Army seeking ways to re-organize it to fit a more Marine model and still soldiers would rather send each other off to their untrained deaths than humble themselves and acknowledge truth.

Instead of excusing bad soldiering from war to war because of MOS and getting defensive because another branch doesn't have these basic problems, address it honestly. Civilians are clueless because you soldiers deliver them rediculous excuses for failure. An entire unit of soldiers were useless because all of them shared the same weapons failure and you seek any excuse other than your branch and those individuals. It shouldn't be about defending your problems. It should be about fixing them so that future soldiers don't keep making the same simple stupid mistakes.

Moot is seeking any desperate news article out there to deliver an excuse that no other convoy acrtoss the branches shared. You offer up their MOS as an excuse for bad soldiering. Moot offers up CLP as an excuse for bad soldiering. She also offers up that the weapons were in the back of the vehicles and not even on their person as if this makes it any better. Hell, we even want to entertain that none of them remembered to chamber a round. Is this how far we are going to go to pat their heads? In the end, no excuse exhonerates the truth, which is that this is an institutional Army problem and an individual ineptness to basic soldiering.

Like I stated, the moment a convoy of admin Marines or supply Marines gets caught with none of their weapons able to fire or their weapons not at the ready you can start seeking a more complex theory. Until it happens, this is a problem confined to your branch. Running from it encourages the next convoy blunder.

One - CLP has been the gun lubricant used in our weapons for decades. It was used in Beirut, the Gulf War, Somalia, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. It's been the issue through cold weather and hot weather. Jungle and desert. The same lubricant is used across the branches as is the same weapons.

Two - An entire U.S. military ground force was using CLP across the branches and only this convoy got caught with their thumbs up their asses.

Three - Jessica Lynch reported that hers and others weapons would not fire leading the obvious conclusion that they were dirty. She was not alone in her failure. Or did all of them forget to chamber a round?

Four - If some of their weapons were not on their person and in the back (which is common knowledge to us) then they were worse than bad soldiers.

And Five - I know exactly what happened because this isn't brain surgery. When an entire convoy can't fire their weapons there are only obvious answers as to why. There are only a few explanations and they all point to bad soldiering on a unit level. Seeking excuses only leads other soldiers to fall into the same lazy trap in the future. And they will because soldiers who dismiss fundamental basic errors will one day wear the stars that their current leaders wear.

Which will be the same old response the next time soldiers get themselves into unnecessary trouble. It doesn't end.

- 2001: Four soldiers shot at Fort Dix by Army Reservists.

- 2003: Two Army officers murdered by fellow soldier in Kuwait.

- 2003: Jessica Lynch's convoy is unanimously unable to defend itself due to mass weapons malfunctions and use the same tired excuses of MOS identity for lack of proper soldiering.

- 2004: Army National Guard Reservists at Abu-Ghraib embarrass the entire nation and everybody in uniform no matter the branch.

- 2005: Two Army officers murdered by fellow soldier in Tikrit.

- 2009: Army Major shoots up Fort Hood.

These are merely highlights. Fratricide, even with GLINT and BFTs, is an ongoing Army phenomenon. You think Pat Tillman would be dead due to fratricide if he were in another branch? Obviously, the Marine Corps makes mistakes. But they are not due to fundamental institutional problems within the branch. If these mistakes were, then there would be a trend easily identifiable from war to war. But there isn't. The Corps' mistakes are exceptions. The Army's mistakes are trends. We don't have Mai Lais. We don;thave Black Hawk Downs. Our Marines don't shoot up our bases. Fratricide is rare. And no Mainre unit gets off the hook because they aren't the "proper" MOS. We can go well past this century and find the same never ending trend. The Army has a discipline problem. While you and others fall back to default position and mock, you ignore the truth that kills your own kind. What pisses me off is that ignorant civilians send their kids off to wear Army uniforms with the assumption that they will be properly trained to defend themselves and to belong to an organization of discipline. Yet the truth, as the Jessica Lynch and so many other stories scream, is that you are only trained properly if you hold the right MOS. You yourself use this to get an entire Army unit off the hook for their lack of soldiering. You may as well alleviate the New York cop who sits behind a desk from knowing how to use his weapon because he doesn't walk a beat. If we won't excuse that, how in hell do you people excuse supposed soldiers in a combat zone?

But, the next time something like this happens where soldiers are making headline news over a lack of discipline and/or training, soldiers like yourself will merely "zzzzzzz" and pretend that nothing is wrong while the rest of the branches have to share in the embarrassment.
