yes, it's an awful, awful thing that insurance will be required. what will the ER's do, when people are treated for strep throat at the doctor's office? has your coverage cost increased, btw? mine hasn't.

I don't know... What did MA do when all the uninsured had to stop being treated in their ERs? Oh, that's right. Recent studies have shown that the number of ER visits haven't dropped at all and people are still being treated in ER's for minor things like strep throat.

Yes, it is going to be on the masses. Group policies are already in talks to be eliminated because of the cost, the employers would rather pay the penalty. That would be a tax, premiums are going up so those people who now have to shop around have to pay premiums rather than the partial contributions in the group policy, while not a "tax" their liabilities are going up. If people cannot find acceptable coverage then they will be taxed. Anything that has an FDA number is subject to a tax(this includes dental hygiene products as well as anything over the counter and many toiletries) and cosmetic products along with personal hygiene products. So yes, everyone will be paying more in taxes......oh, and if you like to tan you will be assessed a new tax. So yes, EVERYONE's taxes just got increased. This is before the major provisions of the bill kick in. Everyone who voted for this should be legally declared an enemy of the state.
and you do not know that people will be hurt and be killed as a result of this bill.
Actually, yes I do. It happens everywhere socialized medicine takes effect, make no mistake that's the end goal of this bill. "Best practices" is a nice way of saying the right to deny coverage based on arbitrary factors such as age or medical history and this is regardless of the attending physician's opinion. Like Obama said and I'm paraphrasing "take a pill" instead of maybe getting that surgery that is medically necessary.
THAT'S hyperbole, and it's why people have turned against this bill.
People know this bill is ****, that's why they've rejected it, and hopefully the offending party as well come November.

but NOT because of universal health, which we don't have in the u.s, but because there are fewer doctors to treat more patients. that's something that can be remedied.

THAT'S what republicans are good at, staying on a simple, repeated message, "dems bad, republicans good".
I find it disheartening that you believe that little of your fellow Americans...that you think they are constantly duped.

It hasn't happened in year one so the bill is okay? Seriously just wait, I am in the insurance field and am seeing the writing on the wall, it's coming and it's going to hurt. Enjoy.

Shoot, our company plan increased by almost 26% this year. Our organization is seriously considering getting rid of the insurance plan once Obamacare kicks in because they simply won't be able to afford to keep carrying us. And that's coming from the Finance department...

I can tell you compliance departments with the h.i. companies I deal with are in full meltdown right now trying to figure out how to work within the bounds of this bill, those extra costs alone are going to jack premiums way up, along with the mandatory coverage minimums being increased to what used to be a "prime" percentage and the other financial lunacy contained within. People are about to find out how bad the congress and president screwed them.

Massachussettes has had their version of Obamacare for 4 and half years or so... How long do we have to wait for all these mythical doctors to appear? What do you think teh remedy is? Lowering standards? Increasing doctor salries? *Shrug*

premiums go up all the time....how will you be able to attribute the rise to the bill? and no, the bill still needs tweaks.
