Birthers Move Over and Make Way for Thirteenthers

No nutty theory is so stupid it won 't find some one who will believe it...

Thank you for your objective, non-partisan opinion. :lamo

In the wake of the DOJ's turmoil and at the risk of folks turning their noses up at the decision rendered, I'll post the following for your reading pleasure:

From the Syracuse.com article (see my post #49):

Take that for what it's worth...

The DOJ....

I think for something to be a title of nobility, it has contain some sort of governmental authority. The Nobel prize does not grant any.

Heck, if you count the Nobel prize as a title of nobility, than that would mean lance armstrong could not hold office since he won the tour de france and got a prize.
The Constitution addresses more than just titles of nobility. Also it would take 25 more states to ratify.

I had never heard of this before today, but the thirteenthers are an amazing new addition to anti-Obama crazies, following in the footsteps of the birthers. Iowa Republicans are trying to ratify the original 13th Amendment:

The idea being that, since Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize, he would be ineligible to be President of the United States if this amendment ever passed. (Ronald Reagan was knighted, but that came after the presidency. And even if he was still in office, it would probably be okay with Iowa Republicans because, you know, Ronald Reagan.) How come Democrats didn't get this creative from 2000 to 2008? We just went to Michael Moore movies all the time.

I think the GOP should make this part of their national platform.

This wouldn't even work. The Nobel Peace Prize isn't a title of nobility.

This is about as fringy as it gets, but I'm sure there are those who will claim it represents the Republicans as a whole, and no doubt the whole Tea Party movement.

This is little different from the morons who want to remove the term limit set for the President so that Obama can be in office for good.

Who are those people? Because I've never heard of such a movement. Not denying - because there are movements like that for a lot of presidents. I remember in my childhood people trying to amend the Constitution so Reagan could stay in office.
