Tea Party Federation kicks out Williams over blog post

The question isn't merely whether representatives were elected democratically, and that alone. The question also arises as to whether those who pay taxes (especially those who pay the most) are being legitimately and fairly represented by people who have the best intrests of the country as their priority. <snipped>

....Works for me.

...so we need representative government with due consideration for those that pay the most taxes.... sort of $1, one vote. Interesting idea.....but that is exactly what we have now....

Maybe a poor chant, but one hell of a platform to stand on.

That is taxation without representation and one hell of a bad mistake by the dems and a great platform for the party of “HELL NO”.

Yes, we have representative government. Their job is to do the right thing, not vote according to poll du jour. The citizens generally lack sufficient understanding of a particular issue to really have the right answers, they react to the news cycles. Polls are somewhat meaningless in the short run. In the long-run, all representatives are accountable to the polls... the polls of every other November.

If you are outraged that the government went against the polls in the stimulus and healthcare reform, then, of course if you are intellectually honest (should I give you the benefit of the doubt?), then you must also be outraged that the Republicans went against the polls and fillibustered unemployment extension and financial industry reform, each issues where the Republican position was inconsistent with the electorate.

Hey, I asked a legitimate question, and you're ridiculing me. Clearly you're taking a page from Saul Alinsky:roll:

Alinsky is my bitch..... :pimpdaddy:

Why didn't obama leave that racist church 20 years ago. See 2 can play. It was a dumb question designed once again to falsley link us to racism.

Spoken like a true liberal politician..... the American voter will remember that attitude, dude.

Hes speaking like a classical conservative. I agree with him on the underlined point.

Hey, I asked what I thought was a completely valid question, I'm not sure why you're resorting to evasion and red herrings.

Why am I not surprised?......... oh yeah, another liberal.

It's not evasion. Why did you stop beating your wife?

It's a loaded question designed to infer that we are racist. it's blatant dishonesty and frankly I'm a little suprised you would choose to lower yourself to this sort of thing my friend,

You are suggesting implications I had no intention of making. The man made two very offensive comments that got a free pass before this one got enough publicity to get him sacked, and I'm curious what made this outburst of his different, or what made this pass some sort of line. You seem awfully defensive when I haven't accused you of a single thing. Rev, my position all along has always been "the tea party has racist elements in it, but these elements in no way define the entire movement", and I'm trying to assimilate this incident into that mindset. If you were being intellectually honest you'd see this. If I was trying to accuse the TP of racism, there's much more damning ways I could try to spin this (I still remember when this asshole got fired from KFBK, here in Sacramento, for essentially the same ****)

Why is this focus on "racist elements" in the tea party? There are no more racists in the tea party than there are in the democrat party.

Where are the 50 threads and not stop accusationg of the "racist elements" of the demicrat party..

The reason is. Is this is a smear campaign and i know you are smart enough to see this. Perhaps being called or being infered as a racist daily makes one "defensive"

Or the Republican party? Is their absence from your comparison partisan or guilt?

The difference is that the racists in the DP aren't showing up for rallies with horrible offensive signs and aren't achieving leadership roles where they vocally say or write offensive things like this jackass did. The racist element in the TP, while not the entire movement, is at least vocal and part of where that energy is coming from.

I also find it incredulous that someone who is playing concern troll like you would use the old "democrat party" shtick. It's not as offensive as "Tea Baggers", but it's just as annoying.

**** everyone else. I'm not responsible for anyone else's actions. You're not responsible for anyone else's action. I have never tried to smear the TP as a bunch or racists or anything like that, I've tried to keep a modicum of respect. Now just assume that I'm not some asshat DD clone, and am trying to engage in honest conversation, how do you figure he wasn't censured at all for his previous comment?

Thanks for giving voice to my thoughts.

They aren't showing up at our rally's either, and if they do, they are either democrat plants, or not tea party folk, who in any case get rebuked by the tea party, as you saw with this guy.

And you claim "they" please name 5 racists in the tea party.

I honestly don't know what's wrong with using the term "democrat party", honestly.

democrat party - Google Search

Really, I don't get it.... heck your website is called "demorcats.org"

Am I missing something?

oh wait... i see it now.

Democrat Party (phrase) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

my bad. It was not meant as an insult.

however its a deflection. I bet I could name more people who have spouted racist things in the democratic party than you can name in the tea party....

Look, you are constantly talking about and bringing up racism in the tea party... yet you or DD or anyone else on the left can't name 5 racists calling themselves teapartiers....

Until you do that, your claims of racism are transparent to your motives.....

I find it funny how much traction the "democrat plant" line gets, since as far as I know there's been no documented evidence of this actually happening. And they ARE showing up at your rallies, I can post pictures of signs backing this up, and when I did go to a Tea Party rally I was informed at depth how Obama was a secret Muslim.

And you claim "they" please name 5 racists in the tea party.
It was difficult because there is no one "Tea Party", so I went with the definition of "someone who self identifies as a member of the Tea Party"
Mark Williams
Billy Roper
Dale Robertson
Gordon Baum
Richard Mack

my bad. It was not meant as an insult.
No big deal. It's just something petty that conservatives do that I would find really hypocritical coming maliciously from someone who's been crusading against "teabagger" so much. Just thought I'd point out that most members of the Democratic Party fine "democrat party" to be an annoying insult.

It'd be interesting to test if we could come up with good parameters for this. Though I suspect that most people who subscribe to some sort of racist thought on either side hide it in code phrases and dog whistle words instead of just coming out and saying "I hate niggers and spics", or they don't consider themselves racist but they hold views that are racist like "blacks are lazy crooks".

Look, you are constantly talking about and bringing up racism in the tea party... yet you or DD or anyone else on the left can't name 5 racists calling themselves teapartiers....
I could do more than 5, to be honest. Even more if we count islamophobes.

Until you do that, your claims of racism are transparent to your motives.....

I'm still curious any explanation why Mark Williams was even given a leadership role, given the comments that got him kicked off of KFBK... any light on that subject?

So you are saying the majority of tea party folk think Obama is a secret muslim?

How is richard Mack a racist?

Gordon Baum? So If I encourage jihadists to join the democratic party, I am then a democratic party member?

Dale Robertson is a buffoon...

Billy Roper is a fake, write in campaign under the "Tea Party", he's about as real as the guy in NJ's 3rd district I linked above...

The express dood, was expelled.

So far you have, what one? And he too has been dealt with, no?

so that's still 0

We'll if that's the standard we use then:

John Wayne Gacy
Cragg Hine
Tom Metzger
Fred Phelps
Obama
Biden
Hillary
Wright

That's off the top of my head. All of these people have demonstrated bigotry, made racially insensative statements, or killed and ate people. ;)

It would be hypocritical if I was aware. :prof

He started his own little tea party group...

Heck, I am now the leader of the Oakland NJ Tea Party Patriots of love.... :doh

They are beholden to the people in their districts. Which is different from a random slice of America from a poll. I expect my representatives to make hard decisions on my behalf. That may or may not relate to poll results that could change from month to month.

For example, if vote for someone because they campaign for issue X, but then 6 months later I (and my district) no longer support issue X. It's not clear cut what a representative should do to earn my vote next election. Should they "flip flop" and go back on their campaign promise, or should the follow the "will of the people"?

The part in bold highlights your misconception. At the national level, ya know, the federal government, the representatives are beholden to the nation as a whole. Yes, yes, I know, all the pork comes back to their distrcits, but that's kinda what's wrong ins't it?
