Coast Guard bans reporters from oil cleanup sites

Did the free market lease them the area?
AFAIK they entered into the lease on their own free will, most likely in a free biding process.
Reverend_Hellh0und said:
Did the free market tell them they had to go past the continental shelf into deep water?
No one forced them anywhere. They could have gone anywhere in the world and entered into any lease with an agreeable lessor.

Did the free market give them a safety award?
Whatever that has to do with anything, I don't think I'll be wasting time to try to figure out...

I will repeat my position...if this was Bush, this would be a front page story every news cycle and every democrat and liberal and tree hugger would be blasting him for not doing enough to solve the problem.
This isn't on the front page of every major newspaper in the U.S.? This isn't on the nightly and 24 hour cable news?

I've seen several polls that show a majority disapproves of how President Barack Obama has handled the devastating Gulf oil spill. The word devastating is the exact word used in one poll article I saw. Not exactly Obama friendly don't you think. They could have left it out and conveyed the same message.
Durn Liburl Media...:lamo

I dont CARE who's fault it was...you stop the leak.
There's almost 7 billion people on this planet and, aside from drilling a relief well, NOT ONE has come up with a way to stop this leak.

Though it is encouraging that you think so highly of President Obama that you would have the expectation that he would be the one to come up with a solution...:)

That's exactly what they're going to do, now. They're going overseas and taking hundreds of thousands of jobs with them.

i doubt they will go anywhere..
there doesnt seem to be any more profitable crude anywhere else in the world than the sweet crude from the gulf and texas area. if they do leave, then so be it and good riddance to bad rubbish.

take note how gasoline prices are still steady even in light of this and other oil supply related "disturbances".. about 3 years ago we were paying 3.50+ per gallon when someone sneezed near a well. my what a difference a bit of time has apparently made.

Yep, they're gone alright. They're going to places like Brazil where they can drill for George Soros's Petrobraz, without nearly as much regulation.

Gateway Pundit

Glad to see what you think of all those hardworking Americans, busting their asses for a living. It's no wonder Leftists voted for Obama.

Yet another abuse of "safety" in order to quell the rights of the press.

What do they have to hide that they want to block the media from seeing?
Maybe it has something to do with the tons of dispersant being chem sprayed into the ocean. And one day BP dumped some 70,000 gallons on a single day just so they can dump less after and the EPA say they did good by forcing them to lower their daily use of this unfamilier chemical. Secret chemical warfare?

you act like it was all americans working those rigs... show me an actual count of all americans being affected by deep well drilling in the gulf and ill feel a bit different.

i wonder what your comments were related to auto mfr's, rv mfr's and boat mfr's when they were closing the doors. deep well drilling employees are most certainly not going to be alone in the unemployment line. this recession has been around for years.(long before it was admitted)
not that i wish for anyone to lose their job, but ****e happens and youd better adapt, rather than whine about it.

Yeah...I'll follow up that LOL...

Do a quick search of all the major media outlet websites...Oh yeah...its just front page stuff isnt it? And the network evening news? You cant get away from the stuff! WHy...the president has been just on top of this since day one...

Nah...whats true LOL ROTF LMAO funny is that you would actually make that claim.

And really...just how many attempts have they made to truly CLOSE the well and end the leak? what...in all this time...2? 3? Every effort they have made hasnt been to close the leak...its been to CONTAIN the flow so they could capture the oil.

And my point still stands. YOu would have envirowackos and every lib chaining themselves to the fence of the white house demanding the presidents head if it was Bush. With 'Him' the Obots have a million and one reasons why the president cant do anything...why...its not even his job...

OK...and Bush COULD stop Katrina from hitting, COULD have raised NOLA above sea level, COULD have rebuilt the levees, COULD have made chocolate Ray nagin actually spend the 12 million they received on a disaster plan that didnt include, sorry bitches...you are on your own...Im taking my chocolate ass to Houston...Bush COULD have forced the LA governor to order an evacuation and COULD have forced the LA governor to mobilize the guard and reserve in the state...etc etc etc..

Mind you...the left didnt expect the same response from Clintons FEMA...that they did Bush, and surely not from "The One", but why let a little thing like honestly get in the way when you are a pure partisan hack?

Gee next you will be saying because the government issued building permits for the millions of foreclosed on homes the government should bail out the owners

This is so dumb, the Good Reverend though he tried, could not come up with an equally dumb response, and for that I am sorry, but my Awesomeness has failed your Fail..... :pimpdaddy:

Your awesomeness failed

You were in effect complaining the government issued the lease for the well, making the government responsible, well the government also issues building permits for housing, should not that make the government responsible for the house as well,

How you interpret that as a concession and a concession to what, I'll never know and have no interest in knowing, but if that's all it takes to feed your fragile little ego, Your Welcome...

Yeah, the free market isn't doing so well on this, are they?

At least 'blame it on Bush' has definitive connections to draw upon, 'if it were Bush' is merely conjectural.

Strengthening the levees would have mitigated much of the devastation of New Orleans.

Are you actively working with someone to improve on that honesty and partisan hackery thing?

If that's your shtick, who am I to stand in your way...

Well of course not you, I mean you were the one who decided that it was so important to talk about my ego, and my greatness. Who am I to stop you.

Gee next you will be saying because the government issued building permits for the millions of foreclosed on homes the government should bail out the owners

Well...Im thinking if those foreclosed homes were spewing 1 barrel of oil a second, then yes...the government would by damn step in and resolve the crisis, then worry about who paid for it. Sort of like...you know...they DID...with the banks...so...ummmmmmmmm...yeah...

One...when the well is spewing a full barrel of oil a second you deal with the disaster FIRST. And since The One has been in charge since day one...he obviously has been doing a pretty ****ty job of THAT. "No...daddy HASNT plugged the hole yet...and stop asking, you little ****. Go to your room."

And two...you want honesty? Hell...how many times here have I pointed out Bushs legitimate failings on the budget, government spending, and a dismal job following up on the war? Point of fact, I have pointed out on NUMEROUS occasions that Bush and his spending policies are the primary reason i left the republican party. So...no...I dont think I actually embody the partisan hackery thing. I think that is reserved for the absolutely blind myopic muppets that cant bring themselves to criticize their O verlord. You know...the dumbasses who believe the president of the country is responsible for the levees in NOLA...and not just ANY AND EVERY president but that particular president...

I too think a president can't do two things at the same time.

Oh, sure; piece-a-cake. That's just boat crews. That doesn't count pipe yards, tool companies, service hands, truck drivers, catering companies. Not to mention all the non-oilfield related companies where these people spend their income, such as car dealerships, resturants, grocery store, house mortgages, etc.

And, yes, they're all American, because to work offshore and leave out of an American dock facility, a person has to possess a TWIC (transportation worker's identification card) and foreiners can't get a TWIC.

HOUMA — As many as 80 offshore boats, about 15 percent of the Gulf fleet, are out of work while the legal battle over the Obama administration’s six-month deepwater-drilling ban continues, an industry group says.

Each boat employs 12-18 people, said Ken Wells, president of the Offshore Marine Service Association. While that doesn’t necessarily mean immediate job losses, it’s a sign that the ban is, as feared, having an impact on offshore work available.

Does that mean you would support a government bailout of the oil and gas industry?
