Glenn Beck launches online University

Honestly aren't they both, just one hasn't admitted it yet?

Actually if you listen to Beck he admits quite frequently that he believes he is more a comedian then a pundit.

I might be interested in attending. Do they have "Onions and crying 101"? I need to convince my boss I need another raise, so this might be a good investment for me.

I have never once heard him say this. Do you have a link or transcript to this?

You do realize he was doing that for a photo shoot, right? You do know the difference between a photo shoot making fun of himself being an emotional person and actually being emotional, right?

He used to call himself "just a rodeo clown" all the time. I've never heard him call himself a pundit.

Jon Stewart does a pretty good Glenn impersonation. That one comedian (I can't remember his name)...he does lots of celebrity impersonations....he does George W. Bush really well....grrrr.....he was on Glenn's radio show one day impersonating him and it was HIlarious.

Frank Caliendo! I finally figured it out.

A perfect way for him to be the middle-man in delivering content. He is taking a cue from his impact on Amazon.com sales. This sounds like a mixture between the Cato Institute (for a political viewpoint) and The Teaching Company (business model).

Yes, I realize this was a photo shoot. I also realize he's a phony and the crying is just one of his shticks - any good method actor can do this. He's a preacher/actor.

Glenn Beck Calls Himself a 'Rodeo Clown'

he use to say it a lot more frequently on Radio, I haven't heard him say it in awhile though. Frankly I think he's going a bit down hill these past few years, he makes bigger leaps with less evidence. I still think he's a worth a listen to though.

I think it's unfair to call a man a phony without backing it up with something. How do you know he isn't just an emotional person who believes in what he is doing. If you can find evidence that it is all just an act then I will concede that he is a a jerk just doing it for the money, but until then I find your statement to just be an uninformed potshot.

Well then he should join Stewart and Colbert on Comedy Central if he sees himself as a Rodeo Clown.

You mean when he cries using Vicks? He uses crying to show emotion, but it is kinda obvious that he is just fake crying.

Again, you do know the difference between a photo shoot making fun of himself being an emotional person and actually being emotional, right? It's clearly not fake. I've been listening to him on the radio for years and he's ALWAYS been a highly emotional person. Why is that so hard to believe?

It isn't hard to believe some one being emotional because I am as well. But when he did that one show with the We the People screen behind him and he acts like he is going to start crying then. It was obvious he was fake crying to try and convince his audience that he loves his country. There is a difference between being emotional and trying to act like you are emotional and he seems to go between the two.

That was pure emotion. He had been working on that project for at least a year. It meant something to him. It made him very emotional. Nothing fake about it at all. The beginning video made ME cry too. Did you watch the video leading up to him or just a clip of him crying?

I watched the entire episode. In fact I watched Beck for a straight year and it looked way to fake to be real emotion. If that is how he really cries then he looks like a bad actor when he does it.

Well if you are in a hurry be misinformed, I would recommend his online university highly. I am certain Christian nationalist history revisionist David Barton will 'teach' you all about the religion of the founding fathers. Gag me with maggots.

Now this would have been a MARVELOUS opportunity for the member to have presented an intellectually sound, logically valid argument which demonstrates precisely HOW any of Beck's arguments represent revisionism.

Naturally, as a Progressive and self proclaimed 'liberal'... while implying that such is a fact, they're HELPLESS to actually offer any evidence of such, let alone an actual argument.

Deceit and fraud... It's who and what they are.

Hey cool... Yet another couple of Leftists trying to pawn themselves off as Moderate, Centrist, Main-stream independents... Funny stuff.

What? YOU?

NOoooouuuuuu. As far as I can tell... you're a Moderate, Centrist, Mainstream independent! Conventional Wisdom has it that "Leftist" is an abstract concept which has no meaning what so ever; it's an ethereal myth created as an ideological boogy-man by the extreme right! At least that's what the Progressives tend to believe.

Oh really? And what about me has lead you to this conclusion?

I don't think it's unfair at all, the video I posted speaks for itself. I've seen many things he has done to President misrepresent Obama that's its not a stretch to believe he misrepresents himself. For example, on Constitution Day 2009 he showed a video that makes it sound as though he hates the Constitution. He did this by editing a 2001 Chicago radio discussion. Needless to say, Beck gutted the conversation.

Yes, the video you posted showed him fake crying because he was DOING A PHOTO SHOOT MAKING FUN OF HIMSELF BEING EMOTIONAL. To conclude that every time he cries he's being fake just because of a photo shoot is beyond ridiculous.
