Obama Seeking "Ass To Kick" Over Oil Spill

Just can't make an argument, without bringing Bush into, huh?

It makes my day happier whenever I can say Former President Bush. :D

Well, I suppose there's not much we can say about the current president since he's been quite a non-entity (except on the golf course) so, go for it! Just keep bringing up the last one

Bush-bashing never gets old, does it? All the Hussein Obama apologists can do is continually throw out the old red herring! Laughable.

I'll have an accord with you here Fluffy. I'll say this, I ain't no Obama apologist because honestly there's not much to apologise for.

There are things I don't like Obama for, and there are things I do. I just happen to feel that from the second he started to look like the winner of the primaries way back when, the lies started, if you want to attack Obama, attack him on substance and facts, over 50% of the attacks on him are outright false or perversion or twisting of facts, as was also sometimes done in attacks against Bush during his presidency.

Until you guys in the States stop blaming eachothers side for this and that, you'll never get anywhere. Take my advice, kick all the politicians out of washington, demand electoral reform, open it up to proportional representation so that parties have to work together, and you will stop the insane polarization that will ultimately destroy your nation because instead of working together to solve problems, you sat around and blamed eachother for all your woes until the problems actually never got fixed and overwhelm the nation.

RealClearPolitics - Video - Obama Seeking "Ass To Kick" Over Oil Spill

50 days later, he's now looking for whom to blame.

Didn't he just give a speech to some HS students about not... making excuses.....

The reality of the situation is that the President is starting to feel the backlash about the overall lack of response to the oil spill. Whether it is his fault or not is relevant, Katrina was not Bush's fault, and he took the blame for that.

It is putting him in a tough spot politcally, and I have no doubt his advisors are telling him that he needs to "look tough" on the issue to try to deflect some of the criticism, but comments such as this really fail in that regard. I would imagine his advisors were not happy with his saying this.

Didn't see Bush acting like a *****. Did we? Nope, Bush bore the criticism like a real man. Unlike our current piece-a-**** president.

Care to explain Obama's inaction during this crisis? Hell, the only real decision he made was to put a buncha folks out of work and kill what income the state of Louisiana had left.

Yes, i suppose we can agree on this paragraph at least. I voted for neither Bush (2000, 2004) nor Obama. BTW there are still those, way out there in La La land, still blaming the Bush Administration for actually blowing up the WTC and, unbelieveably, destroying the levees in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Witnesses have even testified in front of Congressional hearings to both accounts. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and have the unfortunate opportunity to be experiencing the oil spill fiasco, first hand. Sorry if i take this administration's lack of proactive response a bit personal.

What inaction? Just because he's not parading around with the media acting like a tough guy doesn't mean he's not doing stuff. If you think he has not been involved with the oil spill from day 1 you're fairly naive.

Edit, and please don't use the word ***** as an insult. A part of my anatomy isn't an insult.

Ok, enlighten us here on the Gulf Coast. Tell us exactly what Barack or his administration has done to help the victims of this disaster.

Well, I'm sorry, he HAS flown over in a chopper a few times, apparently between rounds of golf.

Everyone is back and forth between "he has been involved from day one" and "he has done nothing" when in reality that point is irrelevant. The spill is now a political problem for President Obama, and that is not going to simply go away, no matter when he got "involved" on the issue.

No you don't, not on national television....in the morning....when kids might be sitting at the table eating Captain Crunch.

I'd bet you have far better judgment than that, Deuce.

Oh god wont somebody PLEASE think of the children? My little angels would never have heard the phrase "kick ass" if it weren't for that darned Obama! :rofl

So, tell us what he did, exactly, to prevent this spill from getting worse.

Did he order the burn? Did he authorize the sand berms? Accept the aid from 17 countries and 4 international agencies? Didn't, did he? Tell us what he did do.

Wait! He went to Grand Isle and ait crawfish! Damn! That's all he needed to do...:rofl!! I bet he sucked some heads, too.

The EPA as well as the Deptartment of the Interior are part of the Executive Branch of government. Really all Congress can do to respond is authorize and allocate funding, which they seem to have done if I am remembering correctly.

The job of Congress is to LEGISLATE, while the president's job is to ADMINISTRATE and ENFORCE the laws. Dealing with issues like this oil spill, should involve quick and decisive action on the part of the EXECUTIVE branch of govt. Whether it's the Energy Dept., Dept. of Interior, Defense Dept., Homeland Security, EPA, or whomever's responsibility.........these are ALL part of the EXECUTIVE branch of Govt and thus fall under the Presiden't control. To expect 535 self-centered, bumbling fools to come together, expediently and efficiently during a crisiis and agree on a course of action and actually fund it and see it through, well, let's just say it doesn't happen that way. So, for now, this is on the President's "front porch" and he will have to deal with it. How he does (or doesn't) may just determine his political future, and that of his Party. Don't feel too badly for him, Bush caught much worse hell over Katrina.
