Cheney dropped the f-bomb on the floor of the Senate.

You seem to be of the mind that cursing in generalities is ZOMG!, yet a direct personal cursing out is perfectly acceptable, especially if it's not on video. Very interesting. But regardless of your excuses concerning where Cheney's "Eff you!" was uttered, it still came out of his mouth as a personal attack. Obama's talk of kicking asses cannot be described as a personal attack on an individual in any way.

Aw, you don't really want to go there, do you? Let's talk about "not too professional or presidential..."

    YouTube - Bush's One-Fingered Victory Salute

Of course, the above wasn't done in anger or directed at an individual, but I'd be interested to hear your excuses for Bush's "professional/presidential" use of the middle finger while on camera. And, you know, I don't recall any righties having palpitations when Bush issued his own personal curse attacks...

"There's Adam Clymer, major-league asshole from The New York Times."
    - George W. Bush, before a speech during a Naperville, Ill., campaign rally

"You ****ing son of a bitch. I saw what you wrote. We’re not going to forget this."
    - Bush to then Wall Street Journal Washington bureau chief Al Hunt in a Dallas restaurant in front of other diners, including Hunt’s wife, Judy Woodruff, and 4-year-old son

Actually didn't see a lot of partisan hypocrisy in my response. (And my panties are fine thanks, I like 'em kinda snug... )

Really have no problem with politicians (or anyone else) swearing. And "kicking ass" is borderline even qualifying as cursing. But there are times, places, and audiences where one is expected to adhere to certain protocol in the language that they use. In the case of Obama in this morning's event I believe he probably used inappropriate language for the circumstances. Is it a big deal? Nope. But it has us talking about it.....

Can't watch Youtube at the moment. At work and it's blocked. But if you have a video of Bush flipping off the camera during an interview or press coverage, would say that would be pretty unprofessional/unpresidential also. Would you agree.....??

Huh. Because I use the phrase "kick ass" in some context or other... like every day. Only rarely does it literally indicate a desire for physical violence.

Jeez- are there any grown-ups running the country anymore?
So Bush was praised for being a tough guy, but Obama isn't?

    Interesting.

You're not Obama and you're not the President. And I'm sure since you're used to saying it every day, it sounds very natural and believable.... not so with Obama.
“I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on what’s being proposed here, he’d agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute.” - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

No you don't, not on national television....in the morning....when kids might be sitting at the table eating Captain Crunch.

I'd bet you have far better judgment than that, Deuce.

LOL, saying "kick ass" doesn't make you tough. LOL

Landing a plane on an aircraft carrier is pretty dadgum impressive. Working a ranch makes you pretty manly.

What does Obama do other than play a ton of golf and go to Kelly Clarkson concerts?

You're ****ing kidding right? Being flown onto an aircraft carrier is impressive? If Obama had done that I'm sure you would have found a way to spin it saying "Oh look he's glorifying himself while all our troops did the work. WTF!?!?! honestly you're using that as a positive example, after he lead your nation into a war on false pretenses that cost the lives of over 4000 American Soldiers?

That's exactly what PBO wanted to be done here. He didn't want to be bothered with this oil spill. Who wants to protect a buncha southern mother****ers that will never vote for his stupid ass, anyway?
