Palin says Obama is in bed with big oil!

"Palin says" I stopped right there and started laughing

Doesnt mean its not true what she said and doesnt mean that anything she says cant be sound and logical its just at this point anything that comes out of her mouth is laughable and meaningless.

AGain she should say something true and smart but hey its her. It be a like 8yr old telling you about brain surgery, he might have just seen something on TV and be 100% right but you just laugh cause he is 8

Oil companies are not intrinsically bad, but after watching the coverage of the Gulf Spill, you can't help but know that oil companies sometimes do some pretty stupid and bad things in the name of profit.
 
It always makes me laugh when Palin wants to talk about someone being in bed with Big Oil. However she is probably right about Obama being an oil sucker. After all, the corporations seem to have the upper hand when it comes to getting laws passed or removed. But don't forget... This is the same woman who said "Drill baby Drill" every time someone handed her a microphone. Maybe she is just a little upset because Obama gets to sleep right next to the CEO and she doesn't.

They're not bad, as in morally reproachable. But they are bad as in criminal negligence.

What did they do that was "stupid?"

They are out there exploring for and drilling oil, which I think we can all agree is vital. They were creating jobs, another good thing. They were in line (as far as we currently know) with all government rules and regulations concerning their conduct.

Should proof of criminal negligence arise, then there is something that they did in fact do wrong, however until that occurs, I do not really see anything that they did wrong persay. It was just an unfortunate accident that is causing the devastation. Blowouts happen almost daily on rigs like this, and typically nothing goes wrong with the regulations that have been in place. If BP (and the rig operators) were following these rules, then I do not really view it as much more than a terrible accident.
 
This is an unfortunate accident and it can and will surely happen again and again, with all this haste and rushing to off shore
" DRILL BABY DRILL " People it is time to stop poluting and get on with the job of creating New Green Technology and clean this PLANET EARTH before it is to late to save the earth and all the life it breeds ( Human, Animal, and Plant Life ect. ect ).

Let's stop the ignorant joking around for the sake of another dollar in the pockets of a few....Clean Energy will create jobs and pave the way to a Cleaner Planet.... This is not a Mission Impossible Sheeple !!!!

From your own article....

$77,051 to a presidential campaign that raised $650 million.... that is less than chump change, and hardly noticed. If anything, its an insult. I doubt they received much more than a DNC form letter thanking them very much..... ($77,051/29,000 employees is $2.65 per employee)

The article also points out that $3.5 million was contributed to various federal candidates over20 years by the 30,000 or so BP employees. This works out to $6 per year given to a variety of candidates. Talk about making something out of nothing.

I always appreciate people that back up their facts. You did. Thank you. However, a simple suggestion is that you also read and understand the facts. Yes, you nailed the fact that Obama was the largest beneficiary, but your fact misled with the significance as clearly they were not a large or even noticeable contributor. BP (and its 29,000 employees) clearly were not players in the 2008 Presidential campaign.

You are correct, I am very confused here. I acknowledged what you said that "....no one received more from BP than Obama..." I simply admonished you for suggesting that such a fact proved or implied anything given that such a meaningless amount was given to Obama. I am not sure what you are trying to take me to task on here. Enlighten me.

BTW, no one received more of my campaign contributions in 2008 than Obama. I must own him as well. If so, I want my money back as he screwed up the healthcare deal, IMHO.

I would too. It's very feasible except they own the politicians. There are plenty af alternative sources of energy without buying it from our worst enemies.
