Only when the results are the same. I'm expecting the budget to finally be balanced. Not sure why the liberals can't get behind it - Christie's simply doing what Obama said we all have to do --- sacrifice and tighten our belts.

I'm not sure about that. I've heard more dissension and annoyance from more people that I talk to, even conservatives, the I did since the whole McGreevy debacle. All he's doing is playing fast and loose with funds to give the impression that he's doing something. Some of his sacrifices inpacting education are downright absurd. Like many, he's afraid to make the hard choices... cutting spending AND raising taxes for fear that some folks will hear "raising taxes" and he won't get re-elected. Problem is, his cuts are pretty high profile and damaging... which will hurt him just as bad. It makes little sense to "save" the state by making cuts, when there's not much left to save after all your cuts.

Conservatives always forget that as a society, what happens to some of us, trickles down and affects the rest. They seem to believe that if we eliminate one thing, it won't affect anyone else. This is the delusion of individualism when living in a society.

So, now that we have dispensed with the foolish partisan hackery, do you want to discuss the issue?

    Do you live in NJ?

It SHOULD impact education since the ROI on thowing more money at education is foolish at best. Second, if he raises taxes - he will be booted out sooner than 2013. Our property taxes in this state are among if not the highest in the country. I'm hoping he's going to cut more and damage more of the liberal mound of debt. The amount of waste and protectionism that has grown under Democrats like that disaster Corzine; unions and the Assembly in NJ is what he's taking on. Raising taxes is not the answer - cutting waste, and making the poor teachers pay 1.5% into their own health care is what's driving this. Cry me a river... The free lunch for liberals, unions and government workers is finally over and they don't like it. Like Obama stated: we all have to sacrifice and tighten our belt. That means unions, liberals and government workers in the State of NJ.

And I'm not sure who you're talking to claiming they're conservatives... but no conservative I know of is pissed off at Christie. Grown men I work with are stating if they see him, they want to kiss the guy! I don't think I'd take it quite that far... Perhaps you or they, are categorizing their "conservativeness" incorrectly.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

One could say Progressive believe that we're better off in a collective mentality. Man wasn't built to live or function in a collective.

Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

I never forget that and I still want and support and hope for more cuts that Christie is proposing. So it affects you. You deal with it and move on. Because we live in a society doesn't mean society trumps individuals - quite the contrary.

I don't think you can. the fact is rich people are smarter-for the most part-than the people who vote in parasite-pandering politicians. They will move if the cost of living in a state is too high. That is why Texas is gaining millionaires and places like Kalifornia, NY and NJ are leaking them

what are the parasites going to do when the gravy train has pulled up the rails and left town.

Just like Democrats who only want to look at taxing things to solve the problem, all Christie seems to want to do is cut things. It's not a solution. I have no problem with cutting waste and teachers paying into their health benefits; most of us do, so why not them. My problem is that his cuts are FAR too damaging to the educational system, cutting many helpful and positive programs. Big mistake, as it hurts our youth... who will soon vote. Raising taxes, or raising the sales tax which I would be more inclined to support, along with cutting waste, would bring in some of the extra money the state needs. And he wouldn't be alienating a entire voter base.

And I'm not sure who you're talking to claiming they're conservatives... but no conservative I know of is pissed off at Christie. Lots of men I know, who identify as conservatives, and who support most conservative positions, want to kill him. Most of these folks are parents and are not happy with what is happening in the schools.

Wrong. Man is a social creature, and throughout history has always gravitated to function in groups.

Depends on degree. I work with MANY school systems, and am hearing about the programs/facilities being cut. It's like amputating an arm to treat an infection. Clean the wound, treat it with anti-biotics FIRST.
