When you find a way to manipulate demand curves, then you can win. Otherwise, it's just PR rhetoric and political hackery.
So, why didn't Arizona insist on prosecuting employers of illegal immigrants (the demand) rather than what they did. (BTW, I agree with you... and Arizona (or better yet, America) should go after the demand curve.)

Why do we have to turn every story into an anti-Obama hit piece. You derail your own threads in the OP. Obama hasn't fixed the drug problem. The criticism in the article is that too much money does to enforcement and not enough goes to treatment programs.

I'm sure some of the 'very conservatives' love the idea of the government paying for drug treatment.

I wonder how much federal money Az eats up on drug enforcement and treatment....

#2 Every state has it's own drug laws. But when people produce or transport a certain amount that is likely to be sold across state lines...

Heroin isn't produced here. So how can cops in NYC stop the Heroin coming in from Miami and Los Angles then being carried taken New Jersey to be mixed with baby food and then repacked and carried to a club in Manhattan.

You have to acknowledge that there are aspects of the drug trade that only the federal government can deal with.

This may be news to you but there arent many conservative pundits out their who are against the drug war.

Obama is the current guy in charge, one of his campaign platforms was the change the drug policy so far he has yet to do it.

Those on this forum who list themselves as very conservative support the drug war. Proud Police Socialists they are. In addition people like myself support people getting their own treatment, having the government pay for it makes it worse.

Which doesnt stop the Feds from conducting their own raids.

Yes, DEA works with local police to identify larger traffickers then conducts raids when a warrant is issued.

I'm not clear on what you issue is. Marijuana?

Local authorities can request federal assistance when a problem grows out of control. Meth in Arizona and California. Also, shipping of controlled substances is covered by the Feds--rightfully so.

But you understand that NYC police don't have jurisdiction at LAX?
