Only if you can understand that the confederate flag was flown by Americans fed up with federal encroachment on state's rights, which is much more valid than another country's flag on any given day of the week. Considering a ****ing Mexican flag is given more respect than a confederate flag is very telling of the man-child mentality of those on the PC side. The Mexican flag means exactly nothing to US political history when compared to the Cofederate battle flag. Don't bother responding to this because I don't care about your opinion in light of your off topic rant.

so, taking down the nonrepresentative mexican flag was a positive thing in your view while taking down the nonrepresentative confederate flag would have been a bad thing
knew i would flush you out with that one
mexican flag of the previous soverign country controlling that state not to be tolerated
confederate flag of the racist southern government is something with which you approve
    got it

no wonder you didn't want me to respond and hi-lite the obvious hypocrisy of your stance

Re: Local School Suspends Student for Removing MEXICAN Flag

The school should be sensitive to displaying the mexican flag. They should have know its not a smart thing to do. They should have avoided this type of thing by simply NOT observing a "holiday" reserved for drinking and eating mexican-type foods. But that kid should never have taken that flag.

At the SAME time Im proud that he did take the flag and toss it in the garbage. Mexico needs to stay in mexico.

Re: Local School Suspends Student for Removing MEXICAN Flag

    Better headline:

"Local School Suspends Student for Removing School Property"

Sorry, it being a mexican flag doesn't suddenly make it fair game any more than if it was a sign for student council, a banner welcoming students, a giant snow flake, a confederate flag, or any other decoration the school puts up.

Tired of this bull**** notion that if you disagree with it political its okay to excuse, or imply your excusing it without obviously saying it (by people who think they're FAR smarter than they actually are), things that are wrong simply on principle.

If the kid didn't like it he should've gone through the proper channels. He didn't, he got in trouble, deal the **** with it kid.

That's the more reasonable route in my opinion as well. Political correctness should never be allowed to trump one's free speech rights, however in the context that the flag was school property......well vandalism, theft, etc. are not protected. The fact that the school seems to focus more on the political correctness aspect is concerning to me however.

He had a legitimate complaint but went about it the wrong way.

Also, surveillance tapes? Do a lot of American high schools have cameras now?

Yeah.... It's a necessary evil in the current day and age. In fact, some schools have metal dectectors on the doors.

You realize if they DIDN'T punish him for doing that it would've ALSO been due to "Political Correctness"; in this case the "DEY TOK ER JOBS!", Mexican and brown people are bad, "AMERICA! **** YEAH!", type mentality that pushes people to act completely irrational when it comes to these situations as if somehow the school displaying the mexican flag during a regularly recognized holiday (and hell, it could've been the SPANISH classes decoration) means they Hate America.

Essentially "Gah! You punished a kid for taking down a flag that wasn't OUR flag!? How Dare you. That offends my sensabilities. I demand you ignore that he did something completely wrong because it offends my sensabilities".

Yeah, it's a catch 22 for sure. This is just the beginning though IMO since this pot has been simmering for decades now with lax enforcement by the fed and then the reaction of certain types of politico to the passage of the state legislation. The kid was wrong for targeting the Mexican flag the way he did, but then again when someone sees their own flag constantly attacked and maligned and then the representation of the Mexican flag comes in the form of parasites like the activist group Laraza, street thugs, etc. it's not surprising that they will go on the attack.
