We are a Christian Nation....

Rebute me. ;)

So a small percentage of Muslims are terrorists and want Shariah law. So a small percentage of Muslims try and shove there religion down others throats (may i remind you its the Church that actively supports this method through Jehovah Witnesses).

Rebute me.

So i guess America isnt a Christian country. ;)

Not only is it embarrasing you have been unable to proove me wrong, but you have resulted to ad hominem and childish insults. Keep trying, its amusing me.

Oh and reported.

Oh did the big bad soldier "report me"? Lol!

1) No, Once again you guessed wrong. America is a Christian country.

2) Africa is a black continent.(not country)

3) 'Embarrassing' is only embarrassing to the person that misspells embarrasing.

4) "Rebute" you? Is English your first language? If not then i will ignore the obvious, and give you a pass.

IMO, the Treaty of Tripoli, the fact that we don't have Christianity anywhere in our constitution, bill of rights, etc, the fact that we have religious freedom makes the idea that we are a Christian nation a not entirely well thought out idea.

Just making sure you weren't equating the two.

You don't have to be an obnoxious jerk about everything either. Try it.

Suck it if you don't like it.<< C'mon misterman, Lets get it together.

78% Christian = Christian country.

50.8% female = female nation

US Census Press Releases

I think the first thing we're going to do is mandate days off for PMS.

It's always been a female nation(seriously). The Vietnam war didn't kill you all off.

"I think the first thing we're going to do is mandate days off for PMS."

Looks like ya wont be working much.

I hope you don't mean that the way it sounds...

Were agreeing on the same thing but you all are in complete denial that the foundation of this country was built by Christianity. The founding fathers were Christians...why is that so hard to except?

I hear ya Pony. I don't think anyone is denying that our founding father's faiths were, by a huge margin, christian oriented.

But that's not what me and some of our other collegues here are debating.

I think I can clear that up for everyone, speaking a language, everyone will clearly understand.

The majority choice of faith in the US, now, and historically, has always been Christianity. In that respect, as far as the majority rule premise dictates, one may correctly infer that we are a christian populace. Further, I would bet a dollar to a donut that we shall always remain a "christian nation" in that respect. (Americans are smart that way. ;))

But FIRST, in order to proclaim to officially be a "christian nation" legitimately, we would have to first establish that the nation was created to be a nation that constitutionally endorsed the religion of christianity. And, it clearly did not. In fact, great lengths were attempted to make it very clear that the nation shall make no laws in regard to religion and state and church shall always remain seperate.

Perhaps we're all just debating for the sake of debate. But, at the end of the day, it just back and forth over semantics.

We have to agree on the definition of "nation" I suppose.

We can all agree on the following. (Or, at least, the more knowlegable of us can.)

1. Christianity is the favored faith of the people living in the nation of the United States.
2. The United States, (a nation,) by design, is secular and does not "officially" endorse any diety or religion over another.

Now that that's all settled, anyone wanna join me for a beer? Or communion? I'm cool with wine too!

Ouch-that's gonna hurt but Kelzie's pretty even tempered from what I have seen

You are talking about a belief and opinion, not fact. You are also demonstrating the appeal to popularity logical fallacy. It used to be that the majority of people thought the earth was flat. They were uninformed then, just like the 78% are uniformed now. So, that about destroys your "poll" theory. Got anything else?

Ya know, CC, 78% of Americans might find that rather insulting. You don't hear me talking about Jews that way do ya?

I think you should infract yourself.

I infract myself all the time... :3oops:

Sadly that is true my left wing friend I am with sin but I cite the words of out lord and savior Jesus Christ when a harlot was about to be stoned to death said and I paraphrase "Let you without sin cast the first stone"

Think about it my left wing friend.........

You my right-wing friend were throwing stones and doing it in the name of Christianity.

Excuse me, How, when, to who my left wing friend?

Did you mean just from this thread?

Yet a lot of our left wing friends deny that including Obama........

DD is just in a state of denial...You have to understand he lives in La La land...........

When Obama Kisses the ass of the muslims in a foreign country and says this is not a Christian nation he needs to be stopped..........

If you lefties don't know what God he is talking about when a President says God Bless America you are in total denial.............

These are just a few examples from this thread.
