Sorry, what part of the US is based on purely Christian values?
Dont get yourself confused between a Christian majority nation and a Christian Nation.
Now you're putting words in my mouth.
The foundation of this nation was built on Christianity!
According to whom? You? Sorry, but you don't define these things for all of us.
I'm not sure why that is attributed as quoting me, but as for the statement itself:
Majoriy doesn't rule.
Any power the majority receives is given to them by the law, and that law prevents majorities from imposing their religous beliefs onto the national identity.
Nope but the majority does!

Hey, he can troll. Sweet. So the limited and clearly defined powers wielded by the majority in this country are not apportioned to them by the Constitution? That is not how it has been for 200+ years? Why don't you care about the Constitution?

PonyBoy. You are starting to troll. The issue has been explained to you in a contradiction of terms. Either address what is being discussed without trolling, or cease. |
First of all, you need to learn how to quote posts properly.
Secondly, your response of: :lamo tells me that you have run out of talking points to back up your absurd assertion.
First of all you've not proven one damn thing with all you're whacked out intellectual ideology. I know saying things like "Christians Suck" is trendy and cool in today's society but if you wanna bash Christianity then you're gonna have to do better than that.

I'm not bashing Christianity. I have no problem with it at all. To each their own. I do, however, find it rather humorous that there are a minority of Christians, like yourself, who give Christianity a bad name by bragging about something so stupid. That isn't very Jesus-like behavior. That's all I'm saying.
You all haven't posted anything in regards to proving that America is NOT a Christian nation. It's nothing but lazy "theories". You all need to PROVE that we are not a Christian nation.
So lets go, Round 2!

I'm not a Christian.

Then why are you defending Christianity so ardently? Why do you even care about this issue?
Because if this nation doesn't claim a religion then someone else will.
Would you rather me defend Islam?
I explained previously why our forfathers, many of them freemason's, went to great lengths to make sure everyone understood that the nation did not endorse any diety over another. Obviously, they didn't go to go far enough as some people still don't seem to get it.
What else can we do folks?
Were agreeing on the same thing but you all are in complete denial that the foundation of this country was built by Christianity. The founding fathers were Christians...why is that so hard to except?
Because if this nation doesn't claim a religion then someone else will.

Why does this nation have to claim a religion at all? We allow freedom of religion, which means we are secular.
Regardless of your problems with Islam, do you honestly think that the US would really ever become an Islamic nation?
No one is disagreeing with these points. However, that does NOT translate into this being a Christian Nation as that term would be normally defined. Why are YOU having such a hard time understanding THAT?
