We are a Christian Nation....

This country wasn't BUILT on any religion. It was built by religious people who were intelligent and wise enough to build it on a foundation of religious neutrality. That is why you need to read the Constitution.

You just hate Christianity. Thats all it is is you're bitterness, really.

Is the "macro level" you're speaking of about population?

Also economically and in regards to defense. The Michigan militia didn't win the Cold War.

This is true. Although, many states (as I said before) had state religions.

But that wouldn't work today. The states are all too tied to each other now to actually allow the states to adopt a specific religion.

They only needed 9 of the 13. ;)

Yes, but it wasn't just slavery that the states had issues about. That's why they had several different plans presented and compromises made in order to get the states needed to ratify it.

That may be true. But it doesn't make this a "Christian nation". As a Christian myself, I find it rather arrogant and disrespectful to try to make tha claim.

Why is it that those who scream the loudest about being "Christian" are those that generally live the least "Christ-like" lives?

You just hate Christianity. Thats all it is is you're bitterness, really.

You are going to have to bring better game than this.

DD is just in a state of denial...You have to understand he lives in La La land...........

I don't think the Founders would've had anything to do with the Cold War.

What do you mean by economically? Why would the Founders' economic philosophies not work today?

So they didn't do the right thing because it wasn't easy enough?

Yet many states had state religions. Huh.

This was less because of the Founding Fathers and more because of the state legislatures of the colonies who eventually formed into the states of the United States.

When Obama Kisses the ass of the muslims in a foreign country and says this is not a Christian nation he needs to be stopped..........

Not at all. I am Christian myself. What I hate is ignorance and arrogance.

People who do not understand the principles that our Constitution was based on and try to argue things like "We are a Christian Nation"....they obviously either don't get it or refuse to accept it.

So they didn't do the right thing because it wasn't easy enough?

They didn't abolish slavery because they knew it would dissolve the already very young, unstable country. It would've demolished the economy in the southern colonies and created two countries instead of one united country.

The market has proven time and again that it must be regulated.

Good luck with that........

Sure thing Chief!

It would have been less traumatic to do this 70 years before we actually did.

For instance....? And what regulations are you comfortable with the government putting on private businesses?

Anti-trust, Fair lending, EOE, Glass-Steagall, etc.

The market has proven time and again that it must be regulated.

And the founding fathers were by no means unanimously against all market regulations. Alexander Hamilton is a good example, but it's not like his opponents were anarchists (Jefferson was pretty close, though)

It would have been less traumatic to do this 70 years before we actually did.

It also would have been impossible. Also, the importance of cotton had not been foreseen.

Could you be more specific? What exactly happened with these companies that requires the federal government's hand?

These aren't companies.

Price fixing, market manipulation, unfair labor practices, lack of competition.

The south would have lost much quicker and easier.

I'm amazed at your clairvoyance. What should we be doing in the present time so that it won't be so bad 70 years from now? I feel like I need to pay $3.95 a minute.
