Sorry...but it doesn't matter how many times you say it....you are DEAD WRONG.

This country was founded on the concept of religious freedom. If you cannot understand that, then you need to read the US Constitution.

We are not a Christian nation, never have been...and never will be.

We are a country that allows for Christianity, Judaism, Buddism, etc,.etc., etc.

The Christian zealots that feel the need to try to make this a "Christian Nation" are no different than the Pharisees.

Indeed. The American colonies were founded as Christian colonies, but the United States was founded as a secular government where people have the freedom to worship all faiths or even none.

Have you read the Constitution? I suggest that you do.

This Country has NEVER been a "Christian Nation". As much as you religious zealots want to impose your perverted versions of Christianity on everyone...the fact remains. This country was founded on religious freedom.
The nation was founded on religious neutrality.
Christianity is but one religion that people are free to practice in this country.
Try as you might to force everyone to adhere to your beliefs...this country remains a religion neutral country.

Sam got it right but DD got it wrong yet sam still agreed with DD?

Are you all sure you know the definition of 'foundation'/'founded'?? A foundation is not the entire structure(100%). It's the support of a structure. 'Founded' is short for 'Foundation. Just think of the concrete foundation on your house. I never said America is a total Christian nation, and nothing more. I said that the foundation of this nation is Christianity. Which is fact. Anyone is free to worship whatever they choose in this country...but dont sit there and try and tell me that the founding fathers built the countries foundation on nothing! The Founding Fathers were Orthodox, which is very Christian.

You almost got it but not quite! I have faith in you, though.

Saying this is like saying the foundation of the government of the United States is a monarchy since we were founded by colonists who were subjects to the British crown. And yet we are not a monarchical system are we?

    No.

Similarly, while the colonies were founded on Christianity, for the most part each colony was dedicated to a different branch of Christianity, and some colonies were hostile towards other colonies for different religious beliefs. 100 years after the founding of these colonies, the Age of Reason occurred and the Founding Fathers looked to reason much more than religion. This is why most Founding Fathers were deists, which is just one step away from agnosticism. The Founding Fathers dismissed the supernatural nature of Christianity and instead looked to it for rational wisdom rather than religious dogma. It was from this understand of rationality and science that the Founding Fathers were able to come up with the ideals of freedom of religion for all Americans.
