Protestant denominations accounted for 51.3%, while Roman Catholicism, at 23.9%, was the largest individual denomination. The study categorizes white evangelicals, 26.3% of the population, as the country's largest religious cohort. Another study estimates evangelicals of all races at 30–35%.

Christianity was introduced to the Americas as it was first colonized by Europeans beginning in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today most Christian churches are Mainline Protestant, Evangelical, or Roman Catholic.

    1) There's roughly 250-300,000 Christian Churches in America. That sure is a staggering amount of Churches for a "non-Christian" dominated country don't you think?

The Freemasons are the most powerful organization in the world(whether you wanna believe it or not). And the Freemasons are dominated by Christians. All religions are welcome but it's a Christian organization, and you must believe in a God for membership. The Freemasons are also the most influential organization in America and have been since day one. Look around at all the government land marks in Washington, and tell me what you see. Christianity has always been ingrained in the US government. But at the same time America welcomes all religions, and that's the best part about this country. The sole reason the founding fathers injected tolerance of all faiths is because they knew it was the easiest way to achieve peace amongst all denominations of all religions, and they were right! There's no other nation like this in the world that has everyone living in peace, worship, and harmony amongst one another. All of this was made possible through Christianity. Christianity will always be the foundation of this country and government.

    2) Various Masonic bodies require a statement of Christian faith to one degree or another. Some Masonic rites vary in their requirements depending on the jurisdiction, these include the [York Rite] and the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite (aka the Ancient & Accepted Rite) as practiced in England. Other Masonic bodies require an affirmation of Christian Faith in all jurisdictions. These include (but are not limited to) the Rectified Scottish Rite, the Swedish Rite, Societas Rosicruciana, the Royal Order of Scotland and the Red Cross of Constantine. Additionally, there are numerous Masonic orders and degrees that while not specifically requiring a profession of faith, require that potential members belong to one or more of the bodies which do and as a result limit their membership to professing Christians (e.g. the Commemorative Order of St. Thomas of Acon, the Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, the Knight York Cross of Honor (KYCH), the York Rite College, etc.)

Of the first 108 universities founded in America,

106 were distinctly Christian, including the first, Harvard University, chartered in 1636.

What's the biggest holiday in America? Christmas.

Why does the Islamic extremist of the world want to convert, kill, or conquer America? Because we are a Christian nation governed by Christian values.

You all have proved me wrong on one thing. I do have something in common with the Muslim world, and that is...We both agree that America is a Christian nation.
For starters, I don't allow radical Islam to impose terms on our national identity anymore than I allow you to. They reduce us conceptually to a Christian nation because in their discourse it is helpful to contrast their enemies as adhering to a different, 'inferior' faith. Apparently, the thought of this dynamic excites you as well, for inverse reasons. If we reject their reduction, then that's even better, because then they say we must be a nation of atheists and non-believers.

As far as national identity goes, I would prefer us to be a nation of humanists of different religions and philosophies, a majority of whom espouse some form of Christianity. However, we aren't really that either, because Americans in general can't be fairly defined as humanists.

We are, however, a people of different religions and philosophies, a majority of whom espouse some form of Christianity, subject to secular laws steeped in the humanistic values of the Enlightenment.

If you notice something good in yourself, give credit to God, not to yourself, but be certain the evil you commit is always your own and yours to acknowledge.

Nothing that you have said above proves your premise. In fact it DISproves it. But let's start from the beginning:

    Define "Christian Nation".

If you want to get technical, they're Jewish. I guess that mean we are a Jewish Nation.

And that is where you fail.. The new testament overrulled the old when Jesus came to earth. Breaking of the ten commandments would assure you place in hell according to the old testament. The ten commandments are apart of the jewish faith not so much the christian faith. Now have you ever been to DC? The ten commandments arent posted in the lobby of the SCOTUS. What you are referring to is the sculpture by Hermon A McNeil that appears at the back of the supreme court building and is the eastern side. The sculpture is of 3 lawgivers. Moses, Confucius and Solon surrounded by other allegorical figures. The tablets moses holds are blank.

You may also be referring to the friezes by Adolph Weinman on the south wall which has 18 lawgivers: Menes, Hammurabi, Moses, Solomon, Lycurgus, Solon, Draco, Confucius, Octavian, Justinian, Mohammed, Charlemagne, King John, Louis IX, Hugo Grotius, Sir William Blackstone, John Marshall and Napoleon

would you like to try this one again?

I've been showing evidence of a Christian America and i think it is YOU that should be proving other wise. You're the one that's in denial, not me.

If this isn't a Christian nation then why is 76% of America Christian?

If this isn't a Christian nation then why is there over 250,000 Christian churches in America?

If this isn't a Christian nation then why has the US government always been dominated by Christians employees?

If this isn't a Christian nation then why were the founding fathers Christian?

If this isn't a Christian nation then why is it that you take advantage of the Christian holidays (Christmas)?
