Re: Leaked footage from Apache showing "US military slaughter" in Baghdad

Unfortunately gathering from the first page and all the mindless "thanks" being swung back and forth it seems people have no idea whats going on because of the video and in the video. 2 well known journalists were killed because they mistook their cameras for Ak47s, however they were strolling down the street with a guy with an RPG.

Apparently from what I've heard (I haven't the time to read the whole thread) there was a coverup in which US military leaders stated that US forces were under unmistakeable attack in this scenario. This video is an exposition of this coverup of the situation.

Unfortunate, it is hard to blame the service-members they saw a man with an RPG and opened fire. How they mistook cameras for AKs I don't know, they dont look anything like AKs in this video. I have always wanted to be a reporter in a warzone and that at its deepest may include being embedded with the other side. The journalists killed deserve award for their sacrifice. ( I believe there may be one).

If I cam under fire like that and survived long enough to make it down the street I wouldv'e held my camera up or swung it in the air, made any signal that I was a friendly.

Unfortunate is all I have to say, such is war, especially a war like this one.

Im subscribed to the thread now and will converse once I have time to read more.

We should have never invaded Iraq.

And note some of the reasons given by posters is that they where "moving out" and it looked like they where headed towards a position.. probably to the ground troops location they say. Well when someone has a weapon and closing the distance do they walk casually with their weapons slung over their shoulder or in aiming position at a fast pace?

Several men had weapons near a firefight and were acting suspiciously. What else is one to expect the men to do? War is a chaotic business. Mistakes are inevitable in life, but in war they carry a far more tragic weight.

The Apache murder was bad, but this was/is worse. Its a report on a female that "committed suicide" and the US military covered it up. I guess the US military likes to coverup murder with either "collateral damage," or "suicide". Anyways their should be more outrage because the military covered this up and it gets little attention to the apache video.

Sorry, but AK47's are guns that only people with contacts can get by. In Iraq, civilians cannot carry guns, do not carry guns, and should not carry guns. Thats not to say a lot dont have them, but they wont walk down the street with them.
I watched it again, and you've probably haven't watched the combat zone episode on the military channel? It was about GB's who landed in blackhawks behind enemy lines in Iraq during the first Gulf War. They laid in a trench that was made from the outpour of water. Anyways, they were in this trench and they were spotted first by children, two girls and a boy who were playing football. The children didn't say anything to the adults, but when they were spotted by the male shepherd the male shepherd ran back and fired his handgun in the air. So now they were screwed and would have to engage the enemy.
What is the moral of the story? Arab men are typically "stupid". They do not follow the rules because arrogance is a part of the male psyche in Iraq. I do not believe that just because two had AK-47s means that they all had AK-47s and that you did acknowledge that contacts have AK-47s I believe it would be fair to assume that since that guy was a reporter he knew people with contacts.

Any one with some sense can look at a map of it and those borders and tell its a good idea for the US to have influence in that area regardless of the many other reasons/excuses that accumulated over the years.
    Thank you
