Sounds like today police are in constant no-win situations. There's never a right answer. Hell, they get sent to court when they use stun guns for obviously legitmiate reasons.

We're about two steps from just ignoring the police and making everyone handle their own issues.
Actually, here in Houston, the police department is so understaffed that handling your own issue is the best way to stay alive, in some situations. But, at least the Second Amendment is respected here so that we CAN protect ourselves.

The ten year old's/adolescents today are growing up faster each year. A ten year old has no problem committing murder, car jacking, or selling drugs. Don't ever underestimate the young "kids" today(especially in America) because they're just as dangerous as the adults.

There is no excuse for using a stun gun on a ten year old boy. Ever. Period.

I agree...a little 10 year **** that has never been taughht respect and proper consequence...they should have bitch-smacked him. Hard. twice.

seriously...what would you do, Mr Obviouly-I-have-all-the-answers? What would you be saying if the officers had restrained him physically and since he was fighting and thrashing he broke an arm or developed a spiral fracture?

Old women, teenage girls, unarmed people who aren't being violent, and now a 10-year old?

I think police need some better clarification on use of tasers. It's supposed to be an alternative to lethal force, not a compliance tool for uncooperative people. Tasers can and do kill people, using one on a child is reckless.

A 10-year old? Are you telling me two police officers can't restrain a child without risking his death? I'm not a big guy, but I've never met a 10-year old who I couldn't overpower. Two guys, both likely bigger than me, who are trained to do this shouldn't have trouble.

There's also no circumstance in which a police officer should slap anybody. It doesn't serve any purpose in apprehension.

I want to see pictures of this child-hercules that couldn't be stopped without a few thousand volts of electricity.

Obviously, this was nothing more than an attempt to inflame the discussion so I will disregard it was the immature rant that it is.

Another childish segment of rant that can be disregarded.

That's not at issue here. What is at issue is the tazing of a 10 year old boy. Why don't we discuss that instead of a infinite number of irrelevant what-ifs?

Sure there is. First of all, I'm against any kind of similar thinking to that. That old, jacked-up belief of "it's never okay to hit a woman" is what makes some women going around taking swings at men and being general bitches because they feel that they have carte blanche to act that way, and it's a birthright given along with a vagina. If more women knew that if you act like a bitch, you get smacked like a bitch, you'd really start noticing women thinking twice before they try to smack, punch, kick, and bite a man with the idea that they can do so with impunity.

If a 10 year old knows that he can just play the "helpless little kid" card and wipe his hands out of a plethora of actions, what's to stop him from pushing the envelope to see what he can get away with? That's not a 10 year old's nature, that's any human being's nature - just probably a bit moreso with children. The sooner you demonstrate to children that boundaries exist and that reprocussions occur when you cross those boundaries, the more apt they are to think twice about doing what they do and assuming you won't react in kind.

I like to think that getting a few thousand volts pumped into his bratty ass will make me rethink what's acceptable behavior in this world, especially when concerning an officer of the law.

Why cant you simply answer the question? The teachers and child care providers couldnt control the kid. This was the second time the police had to be called. MANY behavioral disordered children have ZERO respect for consequence because they have never been taught it. And since you so readily jump to criticize the police OBVIOUSLY YOU have a better answer...so Im all ears. heck...Ive got my notepad out.

Ive seen it take 3 bigass and i mean BIG ASS Samoan guards to restrain 10 year olds...11 years olds. And those kids have come up from it looking like they got hit in the face with a scooter...bruises all over...etc. have you ever had to deal with a ranting and raving 10 year old that has nho respect for anyone or anything and has reached a point where they are beyond control?

All ears, baby...Ive even got my notepad out. Go for it.
