Murdered Canadian diplomat another possible victim of Valerie Plame Wilson/Brewster Jennings disclosure. On May 26, Italian police discovered the badly decomposed body of Canadian diplomat Lewis B. Miskell in a Naples sewer. Miskell, 49, had been stabbed in the abdomen. Intelligence sources report that Miskell, who assigned to the Canadian embassy in Vienna, Austria, was the attache responsible for liaison to UN specialized agencies in Vienna. The most important UN agency in the Austrian capital is the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the nexus for nuclear talks with Iran and a significant activity surrounding the activities of the defunct
Brewster Jennings Associates, the covert weapons counter-proliferation front company outed by the Bush White House. The clampdown on information about Miskell by the pro-Bush Stephen Harper government in Canada indicates that
Miskell may have had an intelligence function and was operating under "official cover" at the Canadian embassy in Vienna.

Do you know what, "non-official cover", even means?
Do your word smithing with someone else. The issue here is “Was Valerie Wilson covert at the time she was illegally outed by the Bush administration?”
The answer is an unequivocally and legally binding
YES.
So, it's ok to out covert agents, sometimes? You Liberals beat all I ever seen.
Now, now. That's not what I said, is it? I simply explained why they did it. Do you understand the difference? AND you’re probably aware that the actual identities, i.e. names, of those CIA agents were not divulged to the prisoners… right? :doh
From Newsweek’s article on this story:
Anthony Romero, the ACLU's executive director, confirms the project hired private investigators to track down CIA officers involved in aggressive interrogation tactics. "It would be an essential part of any defense to cross-examine the perpetrators of torture," he says, adding, "To our knowledge, the 9/11 defendants were not told the identities of the CIA officers."

Notice Romero claims the identities of those in the photos
were not identified. This would be an important fact to know if they were going to be charged with outing a covert CIA agent, don’t ya think? Like when Libby and Rove outed Wilson they not only said her name but, they also said she worked at the CIA. Hence the reason for the investigation into those punks.
The fact that those private investigators, and attorneys, did not have access to classified info stating that those CIA agents were, or were not, covert may be another fact that is important here. Both those facts would probably be necessary to charge, and convict, them of outing a covert CIA agent. After all, if they’re not privy to classified knowledge that certain people are covert, they cannot be held legally responsible for outing them. You do understand that… right?
Maybe Karl Roove can educate us on how what he did was a crime and what these attorneys did probably isn’t. Although, I’m sure the Liz Cheeneys of the neo-con clan will eat this up.
It’s refreshing that NOW rightees are concerned with covert CIA agents’ identities. What a bunch of ****ing hypocrites.
But hey, if we all say our bedtime prayers every night maybe Patrick Fitzgerald will run across some additional info and go after that lying weasel Karl Roove. We can always pray.
