But being a libertarian against socialized medicine (ie medicare), Social Security and other governmental welfare program when on government disability is

I believe typically when someone identifies as a libertarian they are typically agains the above programs (not always but in general) so when a libertarian is on disability most people will think he/she is a hypocrit

It can be an entire pragmatic approach.

I prefer to have private retirement accounts but that isn't reality and this being unchangeable means I have to deal with it.
The same with SSD, I want to buy a private disability plan but I already have to government plan, so I live with what exists.

It doesn't make it hypocritical at all, it just makes other people look completely silly and foolish when they call it that.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.

You can be pragmatic and hypocritical at the same time on the same issue.

Especially if one is complaining about the lazy sods on SSD leaching off the American taxpayer all the while that person is a lazy sod on SSD leaching off the American taxpayer

That would be contradictory but it depends on the context.

If you are really disabled, like having something permanent and truly preventing you from working, but you complain about the people who have carpel tunnel syndrome being on disability.
    That would be fine.

I'm not supporting this guy and have no use for him.
He's a stage 1 Libertarian and will probably never understand that higher complexities of the philosophy.

I just get annoyed when the only mention the news gives of our beliefs is in reference to some crazy dumb ass.
It invites all the trolls who like to do the "birds of a feather" faulty logic.

No it wasn't. The libertarian movement started in the 70's and is the largest third party.

While I hate the one dimensional Left-Right scale, Libertarians don't really fit with either side. It, like Facism, is a sort of third way but in a differant direction.

Re: Libertarian Militia Leader on Govt. Disability

At least half of the people in this thread couldn't tell the difference between an anarchist and a libertarian, apparently. Being on disability for a legitimate reason does not make you a hypocrite in any shape or form. Clinton was staunchly pro-life as the governor of Arkansas and Bush expanded federal control to challenge the days of FDR. I guess, by default, they have no party affiliation because they don't act 100% like the letter after their names.

I'm just waiting for a few of the uninformed people in the thread to spy someone calling for harsh punishment on this guy so we can create an Orwellian slippery slope.
