I don't think that you know a fraction of what you THINK you do.

If you actually watched or read some real news, you would know that the exit polls from a variety of sources said that healthcare have very little to do with the Massachusetts election. (GASP)...of course, FauxNews and the right-wing don't want people to know that so they keep perpetuating the myths.
The reality is, Massachusetts is happy with their healthcare system which is remarkably similar to what was in the Congressional bill.
(But you continue to conveniently overlook that.....)

They haven't been, hence the problem. Right now, today, before reform, you, me, all of us are paying for them.

And if they don't, without health care reform, YOU pay. You pay before Obama and congress do anything. Right now.

For one thing, there were no exit polls. Everyone thought it would be such a blowout for Coakley, they decided not to set any up.

There are, however, polls of people who voted.

A Final Look at Massachusetts Election Night Poll - Rasmussen Reports

    · Among those who Strongly Oppose the plan, 98% voted for Brown.

    · Coakley also picked up 90% of those who Somewhat Favor the plan while Brown was supported by 78% of those who Somewhat Oppose it.

    · One key to Brown’s victory is that 41% Strongly Opposed the plan while just 25% Strongly Favored it.
Please, if you're going to make an argument, don't just assume that anyone who takes the other view (which in this case is a widely accepted view, accurate or not) is an ignorant Fox-viewer or something. Everyone knew that Scott Brown would vote against the health care bill. Everyone knew that this was a big issue in the campaign. Yet he still got voted in.

But this poll isn't about elections, is it? So actually, it's not as accurate as a measure of the entire public's opinion about repeal, because it excludes non-voters, who also have opinions about it. If this were a poll about who is likely to win an election, then polling only voters would make sense.

There were a lot of exit polls.

And even from your own Link - Rassmussen (which Navy Pride calls a "biased pollster that only polls liberals)....

56% of Massachusetts voters named health care as the most important issue. That suggests it was a big issue, but Democrat Martha Coakley actually won among those voters by a 53% to 46% margin.

So to say that the Obama heath care reform was the referendum here is pretty much dispelled by your own post.

But there's the thing- the results are mixed, and could mean several things. So to say that someone who thinks that they mean one thing is ignorant and blind for thinking it is dishonest. Also, people can think that health care was an important issue without thinking that it was the most important issue.

yeah. except that the uninsured use the emergency room about as much as the insured do. the cost of the uninsured getting medical care and then not paying for it costs the average family something like $200 a year. and instead we're going to replace this 200 bucks a year with a multi-thousand dollar subsidy.

only a democrat could honestly argue that we will reduce costs by increasing spending.
