New oil pools are matured all the time?

I have a feeling that you mean new oil fields are discovered all the time

Yes they are, and each new one is generally harder to get at. They are also generally more expensive to extract

Continental US has reached peak oil in that it will never be able to produce the amout of oil that it use to be able to

Alberta has reached peak oil for conventional oil, not for oil sands. Even Alaska has I believe reached peak oil. Should the Artic refuge be drilled, Alaska will not be able to produce more oil now or in the future then it has in the past

The main questions about peak oil are about the ME countries and central Asian one. Just how much oil is left in the super giant fields of Saudi Arabia and other large producers. If they have been engaging in massive tert and secondary production enhancers to maintain production of declining fields then peak oil is going to arrive sooner rather then later.

Peak oil is just another Liberal myth.

This new find was found in what qualifies in the GOM as shallow water. Hence, it won't be harder to develop than that last big discovery.

The natural process that creates oil didn't just up-n-stop one day, it's continueing.

Oil creation is not a process that is done over night but one that takes millions of years for the chemical process to take places. The amount of oil that we have consumed in the last 100 years, has not been replaced by new oil being created in that same time frame. The oil that we have consumed took millions of years to be created, it will take millions of years for it to be replaced

That's right and it's a process that has been occuring for the past several million years and is still occuring. Hence, more oil pools mature all the time.

The process didn't just stop a few million years ago, then restart a few millions later. It's constant.

Right, but the oil produced per-day in the earth is far, far less than the oil burned per-day. It's not even close. It's lunacy to expect the earth to keep up with our consumption.

That comment has zero to do with the relevancy of the conversation.

But you are ignoring the difference in the rate of consumption vs the rate of creation

Consumption 81 million barrels per day

Creation far far less (unsure if scientists have even calculated it)

You lost the other argument, so now you want to change boats in the middle of the creek?

    Good job!

    Which arguement did I lose

That we will reach peak oil at some point in time

Sorry I have not lost that

Only in magical fairy land where billions of barrels of oil are created over night did I lose that argument

Secondly, both issue are the same

You seem to be indicating that the oil we are consuming is being replaced nearly as quickly as we are extracting it (replaced as in being created rather then discovered)

If that is the case then yes peak oil is a myth. But as no credible scientist believes that oil is being created in such a fashion, peak oil is not a myth

First, you claim that we've hit peak oil and there's no more oil being created by the Earth. When the idiocy of that argument comes shining through, you change gears and claim that the Earth can't create enough oil to keep with the demand.

Which is it going to be?
