The stall tactics will not work that long....and even then its unlikely the Republicans would pick up enough seats to ever accomplish that...and even if they did...they probably wouldn't do it. Its just political grandstanding.

I don't think that. Votes rarely go straight down party lines. And the democrats have never really been known to hold their lines very effectively at all, anyway.

If there can be challenges and stalls enough to get close to November and polls show any hint that republicans are gaining traction, you will see democrats defect left and right out of fear for their own seats.

Apparently you're not old and wise enough to have figured out just a day or two before this healthcare bill passed that it was going to pass because you were posting on numerous threads how the Dems will never get the votes and the bill was going down etc. etc...

But now you REALLY know what you're talking about right? You're too old and wise to be wrong again, right?

My disgust is turning to pity for you.

Have fun trampling on wounded vets with your GOP friends.

Re: BREAKING -- Reconciliation bill will have to go back to the House

Excerpted from “Reconciliation bill passes Senate” By CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN & MEREDITH SHINER, Politico, 3/25/10 2:24 PM EDT
The Senate approved a package of fixes to the health care reform law Thursday, drawing to a close the chamber’s year-long effort to overhaul the nation’s insurance system.

But the work isn't done quite yet.

The bill passed 56 to 43, with Vice President Joe Biden presiding over the chamber. …
And, so, it is over in the Senate, with one quick, last stop in the House and health care reform 2010 and student loan reform are done. It was a long grueling road, with many twists and turns, but the system arrived at the destination and an enormous achievement for the American nation has been recorded in the 111th session of Congress.

My understanding is that there is typically just one reconciliation bill per year (per session?) and student loan reform, something that President Clinton tried to pass and failed, was included in the package precisely because it couldn't muster super-majority support.

The two stricken provisions were, again, my understanding, minor; so the reconciliation bill can proceed without them and it should be a straightforward vote in the House.
Student loan reform should be dealt with in a student loan reform bill, not a health reform bill. I understand that the Senate took the student loan provisions out, so all is cool...... Except that we are still stuck with the health care reform law.

C'mon Jall....Its great to be optimistic, but this is done. There is not going to be any recall, the only shot is at a constitutional challenge which probably doesn't have much of a basis according to most analysis I've read.

Its not being "Bravado"...its called being realistic. The Republicans know this is done....its just political grandstanding.
