Does this reserving of the right mean that there won't be fighting involved?
Liberty and freedom from oppression are damnwell reason enough to fight!
You go TEXAS!
Get enough States together and they can change the Constitution (Amendment) to outlaw Federal Mandated Health Insurance.
The United States Constitution - The U.S. Constitution Online - USConstitution.net
Oops.......... 38 states are already changing their laws to make this POS illegal.
Ten US states to file suit against health care reform - Yahoo! News
So lets do the Math!!!!!!!!
2/3rd's of 50 States looks to me to be 33 and a third States....... that's less than 38!
3/4's of 50 States looks like 37 and a half States...... that's also less than 38 States.
Any one here still think the States will be defeated in their bid to out law this POS?
We, Texas, do not have the right to secede.
Your definition of "right" differs GREATLY from mine...
Government DOES NOT "issue" rights.. those come God, the Universal Oneness, or simply from being born.. "Natural Law" in the Federalist Papers.
You make a grievous error when you start to believe government issues "Rights". they simply make laws.... Government issuing Rights is a deep seated error of liberal logic, which unfortunately most of us were taught in government-run schools.
some kind of ephemeral metaphysical
No sir it is a simple working understanding of the Constitution, gleaned from the writings of those who signed it!
Wow okay so it is some kind of ephemeral metaphysical thing wether or not Texas has the right to secede from the USA instead of what agreed upon and written.
Many different people signed the Constitution in the 18th century with many different opinions amongst them.
You sure know a lot about Texas for a guy from NC. Perhaps you lived here before? Maybe even before we were up to our necks in red ink.1. texas is one of the most conservative states in the union
2. texas has a constant inflow of people seeking to escape the leftwing destruction of places like california; if they wanted to set up a state system to replace medicare and/or medicaid, they have a proper pyramid shaped demographic to do it with. a Texan medicaid program could refuse payment to illegal aliens, saving them not a little bit of money.
3. if this pushback results in the Supreme Court discovering an amendment between #9 and #11; the consequences could be very far reaching indeed.
Put down your pitchfork Bill. We're going to have national HC just like all the rest of the states. In fact, all the FED has to do is refuse to give us highway funds. That's how we got:Liberty and freedom from oppression are damnwell reason enough to fight!
You go TEXAS!
3 .08 BAC
4 open container law
2 years w/o highway funds and we'll need mules to get around.
We're going to have national HC just like all the rest of the states..
There will be some variables, especially in the first few years.Therein lay the rub.... it IS not be like the other states.. This state exempt, that state starts later, this state gets this and the other not. Just one of the unconstitutional provisions... need I quote Section and Article?
