I'm gonna go ahead and assume you don't agree with her views...

But look, A woman who loses her son, especially in a war that should have never taken place. Has every right to get pissed. No mother wants to see their son die. So her Continuing to protest against a war seems no more irrelevent then mothers who lost theirs kids to drunk driving continuing to run MADD.

Even if you don't agree with her politics. I don't think calling her a whacko is fair. The immense pain this woman feels for the loss of her son could have led her to do many things. At least protesting is somewhat positive (unless you don't agree with her, then she's just a whacko :confused:)

That is out of order sir.

Look regardless of ANYONES view on the subject. People have a god given right to their opinions. Why is it, when people do things you don't agree with, you have to label them as some whacko or commie or Liberal.

Can't we all just get along bro. Part of the reason Washington can get so messed up sometimes is not just because of the politicians themselves, but the fact that people gotta whine about every single thing they don't agree with. There's no give and take, unless money is involved and even then, stuff doesnt get done.

Major Hasan chose to become a combatant for others. Cindy Sheehan is simply a(at best) misguided figure expressing her dislike for something. The two are not related.

By the way, I have never thought highly of Sheehan or her methods. Please do not make assumptions that she is "my friend", and I won't make assumptions about which less than savory person is "your friend".

But Navy....wouldn't her campaigning outside at the Washington Monument and trying to bring Obama's attention mean she is now being a thorn in Obama's side? The enemy of your enemy is your friend, correct? ;)

And hence he has to support her right? Is this really how your mind works? People are more complicated than simple labels.

You've heard that old expression "I don't agree with what you are saying but I'll defend your right to say it to the death" I'm sure. By your logic would that mean a supporter of someone's right to speak means they have to support what they say?
I guess the only way left to disagree with someone is to attempt to take away their ability to argue, sounds like a bad road to me.

I don't see how Major Hasan's name could come up in a Sheehan thread. Unless it's the military career aspect.

She disgraces the honorable memory of her son.
 
It's not unusual for a grieving parent to make her son's life a cause. Sheehan has always been anti-war. Her son's death made her an activist.

Just out of curiosity, NP, what was your purpose in posting this story other than to troll? Cindy Sheehan is a relatively dead issue. She was big during the Bush years because a lot of people on the left opposed Bush and sided with her, but now? She's hardly worthy of the attention. You really aren't even discussing anything about her, but are instead attacking people on the left and baiting one poster on here. In fact, most of your comments in this thread are baiting comments.

I'm no fan of Sheehan, but I respect her right to protest all she wants. I don't have as negative a view of her as many here do, but I can certainly understand why they do. But seriously, the blanket statements about people on the left are completely unnecessary. There were plenty on the left who couldn't stand Sheehan from day one.

How is code pink treasonous? From Sheehan's point of view the war in Iraq is not justifed and the troops are killing innocent civilians.
