The Democratic National Committee's Organizing for America has quietly launched an initiative aimed at making Obama supporters' voices heard on the largely conservative airwaves.

"The fate of health reform has been a focus of debate in living rooms and offices, on TV and online — and on talk radio. And since millions of folks turn to talk radio as a trusted source of news and opinions, we need to make sure OFA supporters are calling in with a pro-reform message," says the introduction to the online tool.

The online tool presents users with a radio show discussing political topics, to which supporters can listen live, and the phone number for that station, for when health care comes up. It also offers tips for callers and talking points on the issue.

Lol?

Seriously? Talking points provided so the Dem Callers say the approved things? If I were a Liberal I'd be offended beyond belief by the arrogance of this? "Hey, we're gonna need your help to get out the message! Here's a list fo radio stations in your area and here are the shows you should call! (the list is cool, I might use that to see if there are any shows I've been missing...) Oh and by the way, when you call in, here's some talking points you need to use so you stay on message!" Really, are liberals that stupid they need talking points to discuss an issue?

The part that should offend any left leaner should be the assumption you are TOO STUPID to call in and say the right thing. Actually, the left DOES believe in the nanny state... I guess if I were a lefty I wouldn't realize I was being treated like an idiot...

Still, this should settle the debate on which side thinks for themselves and which side of the idealogical debate needs to be told what to say, how to say it and what to think.

I guess coming from Obama the "great community organizer" this shouldn't be a big surprise.

DISCUSSION POINTS

These points are only to provide extra information and suggestions. Your personal story will make the most compelling message.
AWWW! How nice! Your "personal story", because ancedotal emotionalism is what people REALLY respond too!
* For most Americans, their health care plan covers too little and costs too much. Far too many people delay or even skip the care they need because they simply can’t afford it.
Source? Proof? This one is easy to decimate. "I see, and you know this is accurate because... a website told you so? What's the source? How many people really delay or skip care?"

* The plan the President laid out includes the largest health care tax cut for middle class families in history and makes coverage more affordable for tens of millions of families and small business owners and expands coverage to over 31 million Americans who are currently uninsured.
Wait, you're saying that there will be a HUGE tax cut... oh and this really expensive healthcare that people cannot afford... we're gonna add 31,000,000 new people to the system. This is affordable how again?

* This plan will give millions of Americans new choices in health insurance by making coverage more affordable, ending the denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions, putting power in the hands of consumers instead of insurance companies and providing one of the largest tax cuts in history while also reducing our national deficit.
But it doesn't tear down the barrier of insurance companies selling policies across state lines... a garunteed method of promoting competition. And again, a HUGE tax cut while adding 31,000,000 new people into the system... hello how the hell does that save money? Also, the pre-existing conditions, no offense here, but won't that just raise costs thus increase the burden on the rest of the insured people covered by X company?

* Reform couldn’t be more urgent – just this month consumers in California were told their premiums could go up as much as 39 percent.
Holy ****balls batman! 39%! You're right, we DO need reform. Let's start with why the costs are going up, and address those first? Nah, that wouldn't make sense at all would it?
* Too many in Washington are now saying that we should delay or give up on reform entirely, but Americans understand the stakes for our economy and our lives, and we want action.
Who are "they" that say we should "give up on reform"? and those claimed to be asking for a delay, do they have a reason for the delay or just to spite the President?

Since there's no leftwing radio, they have no choice but to call Rush. But was noticing today how no libs were calling, he think was a bit disappointed.

I find it even funnier that the Obama Supporters can't bring themselves to defend this... laughable program.

I sincerely hope that many many people call in in support of the health bill. It will lend so much support to the anti-health bill movement when their points get taken down with facts.

Lars Larson put the same challenge out, and even called the web site to correct the phone number........ no takers so far as I know. :lamo:roll:

For the purposes of this discussion, I will pretend that I am yelling at the movie theater...

NO!!! ITS A TRAP!!!! DON'T SINK TO THEIR LEVEL!!! YOU CANNOT FIGHT EMOTION AND PARANOIA WITH REASON!!!!
OK. Done.

Facts? What facts? :wassat1:

Okay, that was really more of an emotional response. Each side believes their position to be supported with facts and the other side only speculation.

I'm not an expert by any means on the issue, but I just know from listening to talk radio which offers a permanent "challenge this" stance that the dems that do call in are quickly and soundly debunked with factual evidence supplied by the host.

Oh. So it's the conservatives who are using facts and the liberals who are using emotion.

Hey, I have an idea.

Instead of calling into conservative radio programs, how about if liberals start their own national radio program and then use the program to promote their ideas. Liberals could call their national radio program Air America. Certainly liberals would be willing to use their own money to pay for the continued operation of such a program. Certainly such a program would be so popular with liberals that the program would succeed.

I think this is a fine idea. It shows right from the start that Liberals can't think hot themselves and have to be coached or they have nothing to say.

Even with coaching they screw it up.

Yesterday I heard one caller on the Rusty Humphrey's show and he admited he got his information from the Obama web site and I have to say he single handedly proved some Liberals are challenged when it comes to thinking for themselves, being rational, logical, and non-delusional.

If Liberals had something worth while to say Air America would have worked.

As it is when they started it i always called it Error America. Turns out I was right. I just retired too soon to have fun with Obama's lame attempt to make points with numb skulls.

Haven't most of you noticed by now that Liberals rather than come up with cogent logical fact based comments have to rely on either the talking points laid out for them or they go directly into the attack mode trying to obfuscate and change the focus of the discussion?

Obama will be using a more direct attack on Conservative Talk Radio very soon and you will think you're living in Venezuela under Hugo Chavez as stations are shut down because the Czar in charge received false flag letters of complaint about lack of balanced content, or not enough local content os some other such BS excuse to move closer to the end of free speech.

Here's a fact disguised as a question:

A married couple in their mid 20s with a 2 year old baby. Their family income is $30,000. How much will Obama's plan cost them each month??

Probably $0, if I have my facts straight.

The big problem with his plan is it's moving people who do pay for insurance on to Medicaid and/or giving them insurance vouchers/payments for no reason.

More than half the population in the U.S. will be on some type of government welfare.

Not according to the CBO. According to them, in 2016 the average family premium will be $15,200/year and subsidies will average 2/3 of the premium. Based on the CBO projections, this means that the total premium payable by the family will be $5,016 per year or $418 per month.

That is a huge chunk of change for a small family with a modest income. When the lame stream media actually starts saying what this will cost middle income families, town hall meetings will really get nasty.

The CBO has to calculate this using the new accounting mythology that the current Congress has created.

While I do like the CBO and think they do a great job, we have to put everything into context.

This plan is a ridiculous attempt at creating another welfare group that no one can touch because the issue will become a complete lightning rod.
AKA, Democrat pander machine.
