I think the majority of his general philosophy, if tempered a bit by some realistic pragmatism, could do very well on a national stage.

I don't think Ron Paul can be the one to do it though.
I agree. As much as I like Ron Paul, he has one flaw that kills his chances. He has no charisma.

For what it's worth, Ron Paul was once the Libertarian Party's presidential nominee. This I know because I was briefly a member of the Libertarian Party, and Ron Paul's candidacy was discussed during party meetings.

I don't think that the CPAC straw poll means much because Ron Paul doesn't have the charisma needed in order to be elected to the office of the Presidency.

Ron Paul is and Isolationist......We tried that in 1939 and it did not work then and it won't work in 2010...

CPAC was a little odd at times this year. Ron Paul? Come on now. His few good fiscal ideas can't carry him far enough to get to the Presidency.

That's because he is a Libertarian.
He ran for Congress as a Republican because a Libertarian didn't have a good chance at winning a congressional race.

    He's an isolationist because he's a Libertarian?

    Wrong on both counts.

Lefty? You need new material, gramps.

Do you know the difference between isolationism and non-interventionism?

He doesnt, alot of the "principled" cons here on this forum dont know squat between the two. Its easier just to call us commies and be done with it.

Another thing I noticed from the reactions from the "principled" people here and on conservative blogs if Palin or Romney won you can bet your ass they would be signing a different tune.

Jackboots always come in matched pairs, a left boot and a right boot.
