That seems to be the position of many in this country who seem to have lost the concept of personal responsibility and have adopted one of an entitlement mentality

Presidents are the first to be blamed for one's own personal failures because it is easier placing blame vs. accepting responsibility.

Is that what you learned in school? We do not elect a King.

Why don't you read your tag line and then try to comprehend what promote vs provide means.

We have a Representative Democracy and the President is elected to lead the nation but not trample on individual rights or the Constitution.

    Results?
Bush presided over the worst attack on US soil in history.
Bush started a costly war in Iraq when Iraq was not a threat to our security.
Bush left the economy in shambles.
    Bush doubled the debt.

Yeah those are results you can be proud of.
    1. Clinton was to busy with Monica to worry about security
    2. Everyone was for taking out Saddam when they thought he had WMD.
    3. The economy is 10 times worse now.
    4. Obama has tripled it in a year.............

Re: CNN poll: 52% say Obama doesn't deserve reelection in 2012

I disagree with the whole premise of this thread.

    1. You can't take too much from one poll. Obama's still polling at or near 50% in a lot of approval polls. You can't just take one you like and base everything off of it. Considering that Bush ended his presidency with approval ratings in the high 20s, I really don't see Obama as a terribly unpopular president.

    2. As several people have mentioned, this is just one moment in time. There's
still 2 years to go before the election. The U.S. has had a very rough year economically. You may not like Obama's policies, but I don't think anyone can seriously argue that he did not inherit most of them. Also, the economy seems to be showing signs of recovery. If things get seriously better by 2012, Obama will likely be a highly popular candidate who will be very hard to beat.

    3. As several people have said, it depends a lot on who runs against him. You can't just assume that, just because someone doesn't think he deserves to be re-elected, that they will automatically vote for the other candidate. Many people voted for Bush in 2004 even though they didn't like him because they liked Kerry less. If the Republicans were to nominate Sarah Palin, I suspect that would assure Obama's re-election.

    4. Finally, I think it's possible there might even be a Third Party challenge from the Tea Party group. If that were the case, the conservatives would be split and Obama could win with 40% or less.
