No joke: South Carolina now requires ’subversives’ to register

"Terrorists must now declare their intentions before committing terrorist acts." - danarhea

Man, this would be as stupid as...as...as giving terrorist miranda rights!

Now that would really be stupid. It's hilarious to even contemplate such an outrageous notion!

Oh, wait!
Not at all comparable.

Oh, wait!

I too think people shouldn't have rights.

Sorry, I cannot take credit for that quote. I lifted it from someone else. You might want to check with Comedy Central, or better yet, the Government of South Carolina.

South Carolina wants to punish rebels, huh?

How historically ironic.

File this one under Humorous, folks:

Yes, you read that correctly. Terrorists must now declare their intentions before committing terrorist acts. I am sure that will keep the nation safe..... except for one little problem. What terrorist has ever told authorities that they were planning to detonate a bomb, before they detonated the bomb?

So, one day, Ahkmed walks into the courthouse, and up to the filing counter. He fills out the paperwork, stating his intentions to bomb the very same courthouse the next day, then pays his five bucks and walks out. OOOOOOOOOKaaaaaaay. :rofl

I just changed my mind. Don't file this under humorous. File it under Dumb and Dumber, although nothing is going to prevent you from laughing your ass off in the meantime.

Article is here.
Sounds to me like South Carolina is setting up to ban free speech.

Now, arbitrarily, your speech can be deemed 'subversive' and they are not violating your right to free speech, they are arresting you for 'failure to comply with registration' of your speech.

Today it's rediculous, laughing matter 'if you plan to bomb the building get a pass'... then it's, you gotta register to read 'subversive' material like the bible, or 1984.

All without 'violating' the first ammendment because noone will be ever charged for a 'free speech' violation, just told the speech is 'subversive' and dealt with.

SC also introduced a bill that would ban federal currency and switch the state back to the gold standard.

...that boy (state) ain't right.
