    Justice Alito mouths 'not true'

Justice Alito mouths 'not true' - POLITICO Live - POLITICO.com
“The President’s swipe at the Supreme Court was a breach of decorum, and represents the worst of Washington politics — scapegoating ‘special interest’ bogeymen for all that ails Washington in attempt to silence the diverse range of speakers in our democracy,” said Bradley A. Smith, chairman of the Center for Competitive Politics
Obama yacks about bipartisanship and then hurls a beanball at the Supreme Court. He speaks out of every side of every orifice this twit.

But... if you want the Democrats to go asunder like a balsa wood boat in a hurricane... he's doing it... for this speech, except for its incessantly nagging tone, will be forgotten, as his hundred plus other appearances in the past year.

The speech will be remembered... for its grating nature.

Can't wait for November; he just screwed a whole lot of Democrats.

Yikes. If Alito mouthed that, he has a complete lack of decorum. Shame on HIM--not Obama.

Alito is a servant of the right. Naturally, he's going to support the decisions of his fellow right wing activists.

That was poor form and disrespectful. Might as well have thrown his shoe at them to really send the message. They are the final word on the Constitution and the case they ruled on had nothing to do with foreign corporations. It wasn't true. Congress should make legislation banning that and it didn't require a shot at the Supreme Court to make the point.

Going back to at least Ford, this was the first time that a President took a swipe at the Supreme Court during a State of the Union. Not only did Obama take a swipe at them, he straight up lied about the case - and he knows it.

In the face of that, what was the horrible thing that Alito did? Did he stand up and object? No. Did he call Obama a liar? No. While other people wre clapping, he turned his head a few inches toward Sotomayor and inaudibly muttered what looks like "not true." Horror of horrors.

Nevertheless, this type of thing is why Rehnquist was right when he said that Justices should not attend these events.

I understand that. This is not the forum to show disagreemt, particularly from a Supreme Court Justice. Had a liberal judge done that during one of Bush's speeches, I would be just as digusted. Frankly, though, that would not happen.

The State of the Union is not the venue for expressing disagreement in this manner. I think it was in extremely poor taste. JMO

I agree. They should not attend these events.

I just saw the footage. He was not talking to Sotomayor. I think was completely classless on his part. My gosh. What a jerk.

"Oh my god - he shouldn't have done that!"

    Wah wah

The President openly bashed the Supreme Court - I think that's what's uncalled for.

I think the President has a classic case of leaderitis.

You're kidding right. You continue to slam him for being "classless" while continuing to ignore that Obama broke decorum and ettiquite as well, doing something that hasn't been done since Ford so you're talking, what, at least 32 SOTU's? And on top of that the swipe he took that broke decorum was arguably a lie.

But you have NO negative words for Obama, NO words speaking of his behavior, his "classlessness".

But you have an issue with a person sitting in the audiance talking to someone during a speech privately that happened to be caught on camera speaking his displeasure?

You've never attended an event that you've commented on the speech quietly, privately, to a person you're attending it with before?

If this was like the recent one and he jumped up and said "You Lie!" I'd agree with you, just as I agreed then. But he didn't, he didn't make a big spectacle, he made a small private comment that got caught on camera.

Yet he's classless and worthy of all codemnation while you completely ignore Obama.

With all that said, Alito has to be aware of the world we live in now a days. If you want to comment lean over to the person and cover your mouth because we live in the digital age and every movement of the eyes, lips, or hands is going to be disected in a thing like this.
