It looks like both sides broke decorum to me.

How is mouthing something to yourself breaking decorum?

Because when it involves issues like these, disagreements should be private for both parties.

The President openly bashed the Supreme Court - I think that's what's uncalled for.

I think the President has a classic case of leaderitis.
Oh brother. That's a really mature response there.

And on top of that the swipe he took that broke decorum was arguably a lie.

But you have NO negative words for Obama, NO words speaking of his behavior, his "classlessness".

But you have an issue with a person sitting in the audiance talking to someone during a speech privately that happened to be caught on camera speaking his displeasure?

You've never attended an event that you've commented on the speech quietly, privately, to a person you're attending it with before?

If this was like the recent one and he jumped up and said "You Lie!" I'd agree with you, just as I agreed then. But he didn't, he didn't make a big spectacle, he made a small private comment that got caught on camera.

Yet he's classless and worthy of all codemnation while you completely ignore Obama.

With all that said, Alito has to be aware of the world we live in now a days. If you want to comment lean over to the person and cover your mouth because we live in the digital age and every movement of the eyes, lips, or hands is going to be disected in a thing like this.
Yes. You have made an accurate assessment. If this was a speech provided by the Supreme Court and Alito was speaking and Obama was in the audience, I would be disgusted with Obama as well. I stand by my assertion that this is not the venue for a Supreme Court Justice to disagree with the President.

Yes, and this was private. It's not Alito's fault that the press caught in on tape and decided to make a big deal of it.

It shows he has no control over his emotions. Oh, and the camera is rolling. I might feel differently if there weren't TV cameras all over the place. But you are a public figure when on national TV, and I think you should show restraint.

If he had "no control" he would have pulled a Joe Wilson and actually voice up. Instead he just did something that I saw lots of people in the audience do, but nobody made a big deal about them.

I don't have a problem with a member of Congress doing it, as they wear their political beliefs on their sleeves. I have a problem when someone who is supposed to be impartial shows a lack of it in this manner.
