We weren't in a depression when he took office, unemployment was 7.6%. Is it higher or lower now? You buy what you are told by Obama when the facts prove that he has yet to keep a major campaign promise.

Obama will spend more money and create more debt in 2 years than Bush did in 8. You buy that it was money that needed to spend. Millions of Americans disagree and you are in a minority that believes that the stimulus worked

TDOT is the one that miscalculated the job estimates. And the reporter did not deduct the value of the construction projects before dividing up the stimulus money between the jobs created, nor does she include the jobs retained.

OMB stated the accounting change was to avoid subjective and thus inaccurate counting:
"OMB Memo: [R]ecipients will no longer be required to make a subjective judgment on whether jobs were created or retained as a result of the Recovery Act. Instead, recipients will more easily and objectively report on jobs funded with Recovery Act dollars."

The only other means states had to "fix" budget shortfalls due to the Bush recession was to lay off workers or raise taxes, both of which would have made the recession worse for the people in that state.

Losing 8 million jobs would have been twice as bad.

What I listen to is logic and common sense, you ought to try it sometime. You haven't a clue how free enterprise and capitalism works. Your own lack of ability, risk taking, and initiative is to blame for your poor lot in life and why you need Obama's style of help.

Rush Limbaugh doesn't have a thing to do with the way I think. I am a conservative and proud of it.

I am not his enemy although his economic policies are the enemy of free enterprise and capitalism. It destroys incentive and is bankrupting this country. I would have thought someone your age would be more experienced and smarter than you appear.

You are right, that Bush recession with a Democratic Congress led to the most massive spending in U.S. History and more debt in 2 years than Bush created in 8. What do we have to show for it, millions and millions of Americans out of work.

Do you even understand the term personal responsibility? Most liberals don't and apparently you fit into that group. States have the responsibility for their own issues and taking money from the Govt. shirks that responsiblity.

I've heard of personal responsibility. Newt Gingrich used to talk about it in his contract on america. Where's Newt now? The last time I saw him on tv he was saying that the shoe bomber was an american citizen.

How much of Bush's 5 trillion dollars of debt occurred under the Democratic Congress that took office in 2007? Do you even know?

No thanks, the anger seems to be coming from the left and people like you who haven't a clue. you cannot reconcile what was promised by Obama vs. what he has delivered.

You claim we were headed for a depression but since you are incapable of doing any research about the real depression you buy what you are told because that is what you want to believe.

There is no comparision between what Obama inherited and what Reagan inherited. You pick and choose the information you want but ignore the quality of life and cost of living. Interest rates we 21% when Reagan took office, what were they when Obama took office. Inflation was in double digits, what were they when Obama took office. The true unemployment rate today is closer to 17% after the Obama stimulus. Obama has done nothing but create debt. Maybe you ought to take an economics class.
