What you have a problem understanding is he was part of the problem, not the solution and we are seeing that today. How has he made things better?

    Here are just a few:

"There's mounting evidence that the $787 billion economic stimulus he signed in February—combined with the bank bailout package—prevented an economic depression."
What evidence? Prove it! The bank bailout out was Bush's. The Stimulus added another 4 million jobs to the unemployment roles.

"few mainstream economists seriously dispute that Obama's decisive action prevented a much deeper downturn and restored economic growth in the third quarter."
Obama is having the best first year of any president since Franklin Roosevelt. - By Jacob Weisberg - Slate Magazine
Economic growth due to growth in govt. spending and inventory growth, not private sector jobs. Who pays for that economic growth?

"The Obama White House cleared an important hurdle in the health care reform debate when it appropriated $19 billion in the stimulus package to help implement an electronic medical record system."
Great, then he proposed a 2.5 trillion dollar healthcare program. Is 2.5 trillion more or less than 19 billion?

"Maligned for its handling of the financial and banking crises, the Obama Treasury Department has nevertheless implemented policies with real qualitative and quantitative impact on debt-burdened families. Chief among those was a $2,500 tax credit to help offset the cost of tuition (among other expenses) for those seeking a college education. Nearly five million families are expected to save $9 billion, according to Treasury officials."
Wow, so we are going to send all these kids to college to compete for jobs that do not exist. Why do you buy Obama rhetoric without thinking of the consequences?

"Perhaps the most significant of steps was to allocate $2 billion in stimulus cash for advanced batteries systems. One high-ranking Hill aide called battery technology "the next big frontier" in the automotive world, adding that if the U.S. could dominate this market it would reclaim its perch as the world's premier car manufacturer."
How many jobs did this create? You apparently think all these green jobs come without consequences. Let me know when those jobs begin

"More than any prior president, Obama has put a spotlight on America's struggling cities, even creating an office of Urban Policy in the White House. It is the Justice Department, however, that lays claim to one of the most consequential of urban affairs achievements. Through the Recovery Act, DOJ secured $2 billion for Byrne Grants, which funds anti-gang and anti-gun task forces. The money, cut during the Bush years, is expected to have massive ramifications on inner-city crime and violence."
Great, how many jobs did that create? More govt. pork without benefits.

"Obama's engagement with the Muslim world has been at once remarkable and under-appreciated. From the first interview with Al Arabiya to his Nowruz address to the Iranian people, to his proclamation that "American is not at war with Islam" during an appearance in Turkey, seasoned observers have been routinely impressed. "Through these [statements and interviews]," said one Democratic foreign policy hand, "He has been able to dramatically change America's image in that region
Obama's First 100 Days: 10 Achievements You Didn't Know About."
So North Korea and Iran are now under control? More rhetoric that seems to excite you but where is the substance?

"The first bill signed into law by Obama was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, relaxing the statute of limitations for equal-pay lawsuits.[110] Five days later, he signed the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to cover an additional 4 million children currently uninsured.[111]
Do you realize what you are supporting here? Think about this and how it affects the economy?

In March 2009, Obama reversed a Bush-era policy which had limited funding of embryonic stem cell research to only a small number of lines. Obama stated that he believed "sound science and moral values...are not inconsistent" and pledged to develop "strict guidelines" on the research.[112]
You really have a distorted view as to the role of the Federal Govt.

Sonia Sotomayor, nominated by Obama on May 26, 2009 to replace retiring Associate Justice David Souter, was confirmed on August 6, 2009,[113] becoming the first Hispanic to be a Supreme Court Justice."
How does that affect the economy and national security?

"On February 27, Obama declared that combat operations would end in Iraq within 18 months. His remarks were made to a group of Marines preparing for deployment to Afghanistan. Obama said, "Let me say this as plainly as I can: By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end."
Barack Obama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Sounds like the Bush doctrine

"Obama was able to achieve some significant cuts to wasteful spending -- most notably, the elimination of the F-22 fighter jet program after he successfully lobbied the Senate to vote to strip out financing for more jets from a defense funding authorization bill. The Washington Times reported on January 14 that Obama won "60 percent of his proposed cuts" and also managed "to get Congress to ax several programs that had bedeviled President George W. Bush for years."
So the deficit is down? Why are you buying this rhetoric? Obama will add trillions to the debt and will pass Bush debt in two years.

On May 21, 2009, Obama signed into law a bill providing what USA Today called the "most sweeping changes to the credit card industry in 40 years," adding restrictions on interest rate increases and fees and restricting the marketing of credit cards to college students."
Again, does personal responsibility exist in your world? People taking credit pay the price for that credit, not the taxpayers.

"On April 21, 2009, Obama signed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, which expands the scope of AmeriCorps and provides opportunities for young people and senior citizens to join in service programs."
How has that created jobs and reversed the economic decline?

"The Washington Post reported that moves by the Obama administration to improve government transparency "included a ban on lobbyist gifts; restrictions on the hiring of lobbyists; publication of White House visitor logs and other records; and a move to bar lobbyists from serving on advisory boards." A report by Common Cause, Democracy 21, the League of Women Voters, and U.S. PIRG stated that: "The cumulative effect of the Administration's actions has been to adopt the strongest and most comprehensive lobbying, ethics and transparency rules and policies ever established by an Administration to govern its own activities."
So there aren't lobbyists in the Obama Administration? Better rethink that one.

"On May 9, 2009, Obama signed an executive order easing restrictions on the use of federal money for embryonic stem cell research."
Media ignore Obama's accomplishments to claim he has "little to show for '09" | Media Matters for America
Is that the role of the Federal Govt.?

"# Increased gas mileage standards for cars and light trucks 40 percent, from today's 25 mpg to 35 mpg by 2016. The announcement in May came as part of Washington's bailout of Detroit.
How does that affect employment and the economy now? Do you even know the purpose of a stimulus plan?

    # Blocked Bush administration rules to open the California coast and 77 federal sites near Utah's Arches and Canyonlands national parks to new oil and gas drilling.
We certainly don't want to drill on our own property now do we?

    # Begun a process in December in which the Environmental Protection Agency will, for the first time, restrict the amount of greenhouse gases industry can release.
    Great job creation program, LOL

    # Signed a bill in March establishing 2.1 million new acres of federally protected wilderness, the largest wilderness bill since President Bill Clinton signed the Desert Protection Act in 1994. The bill bans logging, mining and road-building on federal forests and deserts in nine states, including portions of Joshua Tree and Sequoia national parks and ancient bristlecone pine forests in the eastern Sierra.
    Another incredible job creation program,

    # Announced tougher new national smog standards from the EPA this month.
    Another incredible job creation program,

    # Reversed Bush administration rules allowing more snowmobiles in Yellowstone and fewer federal agency reviews of endangered species.
Let me know when those endangered species start paying U.S. income taxes?

    # Issued EPA rules requiring large U.S. ships to cut soot emissions by 85 percent."
Obama's first year: On environment, big changes but little notice - San Jose Mercury News
    Brilliant job creation program

I am absolutely convinced that you haven't a clue as to the role of the Federal govt. as everything you have posted here is a vast expansion, taken right off some leftwing website, and destroys the very foundation upon which this country was built. If you support all this then you are part of the problem not part of the solution.

Nothing Obama has done has created one private sector job according to Evan Bayh today and nothing Obama has done supports the private sector economy.

I am really sorry that people like you buy what you are told without thinking of the consequences. Who pays for all this? Where are the jobs?

4 million jobs lost since January 2009

1.47 trillion deficit last year, 1.6 trillion this year on the first Obama budget, and 1.3 trillion next year. Those numbers alone along with the lack of jobs make everything you posted above nothing but partisan bs rhetoric from a leftwing socialist who has never held a real job and shows his true colors in trying to destroy the economy of this nation.

In December the Obama Administration announced they had “saved or created” 1.1 million jobs.
In January the Obama Administration announced they had “saved or created” 2 million jobs.
Too bad for Obama that Americans aren’t buying his “saved or created” nonsense.

Just 6% of Americans believe the $787 “stimulus” boondoggle created any jobs according to a recent New York Times/CBS poll.

Look, what is the purpose of Congress then if it has nothing to do with the running of this country? Just think of how much we could save by eliminating them?

Do you realize that what you posted is dated August of last year? The economic growth last quarter was tied entirely to inventory growth and not consumer activity. We have a consumer generated economy, not a govt. created economy and yet that is what is growing.

I know how badly you want to believe what Obama is telling you but all he is doing is making you look foolish. Have you no pride and would allow the govt. to make you look and sound foolish?

Obama needs to learn this is a private sector economy, not a public sector economy. You pay taxes that fund the public sector and choose how to spend your dollars in the private sector. Think you can afford the cost of that public sector that Obama is creating?

The haggardness of poverty is everywhere seen contrasted with the sleekness of wealth, the exhorted labor of some compensating for the idleness of others, wretched hovels by the side of stately colonnades, the rags of indigence blended with the ensigns of opulence; in a word, the most useless profusion in the midst of the most urgent wants.Jean-Baptiste Say

Apparently not, since Bush created all the problems in 2008 according to you, problems that Obama is cleaning up. Why is it we have three equal branches of govt. now but didn't have them in 2007-2008?

Obama was in the Senate in 2007-2008 thus was part of the problem.

From your link. Notice it says appear to help. What evidence is there we would be in worse shape without Obama's out of control spending?

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125185379218478087.html

Government efforts to funnel hundreds of billions of dollars into the U.S. economy appear to be helping the U.S. climb out of the worst recession in decades.

A load operator at Auto Parts Plus in Stafford, Va., crushes a car last week that was traded in during the 'cash for clunkers' program.

But there's little agreement about which programs are having the biggest impact. Some economists argue that efforts such as the Federal Reserve's aggressive buying of Treasury debt and mortgage-backed securities, as well as government efforts to shore up banks, are providing a bigger boost than the administration's $787 billion stimulus package.

Opinion, however, remains split about which program has had the biggest impact. "I don't think the stimulus was necessarily as effective as people claimed it to be or claim it will be," said Joseph LaVorgna, chief U.S. economist with Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. He credits the government's "stress tests" of banks, which helped boost confidence on Wall Street and allow banks to raise capital and resume lending.

Economists say other programs are having an impact, including an $8,000 tax credit for first-time home-buyers that has spurred home sales. The cash-for-clunkers program, which provided financial incentives for consumers to trade in older vehicles, did the same for cars.

Where did I say all the problems have been created in 2008? The problems started back with Reagan slashing taxes for the top income brackets, while simultaneously increasing military spending. Bush continued by further cutting taxes to the most wealthy and doubled military spending, in addition to the expense of two unfunded wars, all done before 2007.

Before Reagan we had 30 years where the debt never increased as a percentage of the GDP.
