Since when does reality play a role in an Obama supporter's world? Want reality?

Obama promised transparency and no lobbyist in his Administration-Healthcare negotiations held behind closed doors

Obama promised to go through the budget line by line-2009 budget deficit 1.47 trillion, 2010 projections 1.6 trillion, 2011 1.3 trillion, more debt in 3 years than Bush generated in 8 and more debt in less than 2 years than Reagan did in 8

Obama promised to keep unemployment at 8% and it is closer to 17% with over 4 million unemployed since January 2009

    How are those for reality?

What has Obama done that has generated this kind of loyalty and support? It looks to me like you simply cannot admit that you were wrong in your support for him.

He is the person that the majority have voted for to lead our great country. I do not want to see him fail because if he fails the country fails with him.

His agenda is contrary to the very foundation upon which this country was built and he is taking this country far left. Is that the direction you want this country to go and if so why?

If he succeeds this country will be changed forever and no longer be the economic and world power that it has been. I don't call that success.

I asked you a question as to what accomplishment he has achieved in his first year in office that has made things better for the country and you didn't answer. Why is it so hard to admit that you were wrong?

It's all about the distribution of wealth. We can not allow the current situation where a tiny percentage has all of the wealth. It's time for a level playing field, ehich I believe Obama will provide.

The workers have been paying all of their wages into the payroll tax, while the rich have a cut off rate that needs raised.

I say this because the SS fund has been robbed for years and put into the general fund. The only thing left will be a pile of iou's.

Wait until all of us no longer can afford health care. Only then will real reform occur.

Why not? What prevented you from becoming the same people that you seem to hate today? I don't care how rich you get so why are you concerned about how rich someone else is?

You are right about SS being robbed for years but why should the Rich who will never need that supplement pay for the retirement of others. The problem is the robbing of the SS fund, not the cut off of high income workers. Again too many ignore the robbing of SS fund.

So what? How many people do insurance companies employ? Further how can there be healthcare reform without identifying all the costs asociated with healthcare. Democrats have no interest in reforming healthcare only taking it over.

It was no longer the economic and world power it had been before he walked in the WH door. That is what we are trying to clean up.

I asked you a question as to what accomplishment he has achieved in his first year in office that has made things better for the country......
    Here are just a few:

"There's mounting evidence that the $787 billion economic stimulus he signed in February—combined with the bank bailout package—prevented an economic depression."

"few mainstream economists seriously dispute that Obama's decisive action prevented a much deeper downturn and restored economic growth in the third quarter."
Obama is having the best first year of any president since Franklin Roosevelt. - By Jacob Weisberg - Slate Magazine

"The Obama White House cleared an important hurdle in the health care reform debate when it appropriated $19 billion in the stimulus package to help implement an electronic medical record system."

"Maligned for its handling of the financial and banking crises, the Obama Treasury Department has nevertheless implemented policies with real qualitative and quantitative impact on debt-burdened families. Chief among those was a $2,500 tax credit to help offset the cost of tuition (among other expenses) for those seeking a college education. Nearly five million families are expected to save $9 billion, according to Treasury officials."

"Perhaps the most significant of steps was to allocate $2 billion in stimulus cash for advanced batteries systems. One high-ranking Hill aide called battery technology "the next big frontier" in the automotive world, adding that if the U.S. could dominate this market it would reclaim its perch as the world's premier car manufacturer."

"More than any prior president, Obama has put a spotlight on America's struggling cities, even creating an office of Urban Policy in the White House. It is the Justice Department, however, that lays claim to one of the most consequential of urban affairs achievements. Through the Recovery Act, DOJ secured $2 billion for Byrne Grants, which funds anti-gang and anti-gun task forces. The money, cut during the Bush years, is expected to have massive ramifications on inner-city crime and violence."

"Obama's engagement with the Muslim world has been at once remarkable and under-appreciated. From the first interview with Al Arabiya to his Nowruz address to the Iranian people, to his proclamation that "American is not at war with Islam" during an appearance in Turkey, seasoned observers have been routinely impressed. "Through these [statements and interviews]," said one Democratic foreign policy hand, "He has been able to dramatically change America's image in that region."
Obama's First 100 Days: 10 Achievements You Didn't Know About

"The first bill signed into law by Obama was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, relaxing the statute of limitations for equal-pay lawsuits.[110] Five days later, he signed the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to cover an additional 4 million children currently uninsured.[111]

In March 2009, Obama reversed a Bush-era policy which had limited funding of embryonic stem cell research to only a small number of lines. Obama stated that he believed "sound science and moral values...are not inconsistent" and pledged to develop "strict guidelines" on the research.[112]

Sonia Sotomayor, nominated by Obama on May 26, 2009 to replace retiring Associate Justice David Souter, was confirmed on August 6, 2009,[113] becoming the first Hispanic to be a Supreme Court Justice."

"On February 27, Obama declared that combat operations would end in Iraq within 18 months. His remarks were made to a group of Marines preparing for deployment to Afghanistan. Obama said, "Let me say this as plainly as I can: By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end."
    [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama]Barack Obama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

"Obama was able to achieve some significant cuts to wasteful spending -- most notably, the elimination of the F-22 fighter jet program after he successfully lobbied the Senate to vote to strip out financing for more jets from a defense funding authorization bill. The Washington Times reported on January 14 that Obama won "60 percent of his proposed cuts" and also managed "to get Congress to ax several programs that had bedeviled President George W. Bush for years."

On May 21, 2009, Obama signed into law a bill providing what USA Today called the "most sweeping changes to the credit card industry in 40 years," adding restrictions on interest rate increases and fees and restricting the marketing of credit cards to college students."

"On April 21, 2009, Obama signed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, which expands the scope of AmeriCorps and provides opportunities for young people and senior citizens to join in service programs."

"The Washington Post reported that moves by the Obama administration to improve government transparency "included a ban on lobbyist gifts; restrictions on the hiring of lobbyists; publication of White House visitor logs and other records; and a move to bar lobbyists from serving on advisory boards." A report by Common Cause, Democracy 21, the League of Women Voters, and U.S. PIRG stated that: "The cumulative effect of the Administration's actions has been to adopt the strongest and most comprehensive lobbying, ethics and transparency rules and policies ever established by an Administration to govern its own activities."

"On May 9, 2009, Obama signed an executive order easing restrictions on the use of federal money for embryonic stem cell research."
Media ignore Obama's accomplishments to claim he has "little to show for '09" | Media Matters for America

"# Increased gas mileage standards for cars and light trucks 40 percent, from today's 25 mpg to 35 mpg by 2016. The announcement in May came as part of Washington's bailout of Detroit.

    # Blocked Bush administration rules to open the California coast and 77 federal sites near Utah's Arches and Canyonlands national parks to new oil and gas drilling.

    # Begun a process in December in which the Environmental Protection Agency will, for the first time, restrict the amount of greenhouse gases industry can release.

    # Signed a bill in March establishing 2.1 million new acres of federally protected wilderness, the largest wilderness bill since President Bill Clinton signed the Desert Protection Act in 1994. The bill bans logging, mining and road-building on federal forests and deserts in nine states, including portions of Joshua Tree and Sequoia national parks and ancient bristlecone pine forests in the eastern Sierra.

    # Announced tougher new national smog standards from the EPA this month.

    # Reversed Bush administration rules allowing more snowmobiles in Yellowstone and fewer federal agency reviews of endangered species.

    # Issued EPA rules requiring large U.S. ships to cut soot emissions by 85 percent."
