Oh, anybody who is dead is not eligible for debate? Is that a new rule you just made up?

I don't team up with anybody. Don't need to. When you have the whole marching band telling one individual they are out of step, I hardly call that teaming up on somebody.

There is right and there is wrong. I just call it like I see it. I wouldn't have any problem buying any one of you a beer or takking you to the lake fishing. It is not my intention to spead the seeds of discord and hatred. But, neither will I shy away from those that do. Liberal, conservative. It don't matter to me. Right is right and wrong is wrong. And I don't need to provide a link to convince me of that.

I have no party line as I dislike today's Republican Party ALMOST as much as I dislike today's Democratic Party. I grew up a Democrat but grew out of it. Today I vote for the candidate closest to my point of view realizing that I will never get the perfect candidate unless I run and then I won't be perfect to others.

It serves no purpose to continue to relive the past because no one can change it. One however can change the present and the future. What is happening right now is a travisty but too many want to ignore that and instead distort the past.

I got exactly who I voted for with Reagan and Bush and the country is getting exactly who I told them they would get with Obama. The results being generated are being ignored and those results are doing more harm to this country than anything Reagan or Bush ever did.

THAT'S why I have so much respect for you. I hope some of these other, so called, "conservatives" around here take a lesson from you.

I suppose it's all about just a different point of view. True, we should stay in the here and now as often as we can.

But we differ on Obama vs. Bush. Even though I didn't support Obama, he has yet shown himself to me to be nearly as destructive to our nation as Bush was. Give him time though. I'm sure given the oppertunity he will at least come close.

Nixon is certainly subject to debate so why don't you start a Nixon thread. Let me know where it is and I will be there to discuss whatever issues you want. The problem is today, not what happened in the 70's. Pointing out bad behavior in the past doesn't justify bad behavior today.

Thank for the compliment, I am hardly a Republican these days but I am a conservative and make no apology for that

I am afraid that Obama given more time will destroy the foundation upon which this country was built. I don't see that same distruction that you claim with Bush and the economic numbers don't show the destruction either. Upon what are you making that statement? There are billboards popping up around the nation with a picture of Bush and the statement, "Do you miss me yet?"

The media did their best to destroy a "good" man and distorted his record. I learned something from Reagan that every American should pay attention to, "Trust but verify" and that is what I do when I am given distortions by liberals or conservatives. Some of the debt Bush created he did not control, i.e. 9/11, Hurricanes Katrina, Ike, and Floyd
