Why Democrats Hate Rush and a Stunner (for Libs) on "W"

The most influential US conservatives: 20-1 - Telegraph

    This (edited) is spot on...

    12. George W. Bush (21) George W. Bush; top 20 conservatives

    Former President

In 2007, George W. Bush just missed our Top 20 top conservatives list – a provocative and controversial decision but one that reflected his disastrous poll ratings...Aides protested that history would vindicate him and already there are signs that this is happening.

The Iraq “surge” of 2007 unquestionably won the war and has helped establish a viable democratic state in the heart of the Middle East
    ...

Bush’s influence endures also because Obama and his advisers seem scarcely able to do anything without referring to his predecessor. This betrays a shallowness that is beginning to wear thin with American voters. With the recent terrorist attacks, Bush’s relentless focus on Islamist terrorism now looks wise rather than obsessive ...and his refusal to criticise Obama even through surrogates is to be commended.
I would have reversed the #1 and 2 positions, but nevertheless... it is the reason Democrats hate Rush.

He's highly effective at dismantling the left's propaganda machine.
He is relentless... is masterful at having the press fail publicly at their supposed job almost daily... reporting.

Is it any wonder the Lib networks are stalling and crashing?
One guy deserves immense credit... #2.
It's why he's loathed by Leftists.

And LOL... The Top 20 Dems... Looks like the Ultimate Failure Machine; It's mostly the Obama Administration... ROTFLMAO.
Yep... they're influential alright... we see the bang-up job they're doing.
At least they could have put one Lib in there that is successful and honest, say... Warren Buffett or Bill Gates.

I thought Bush invaded Iraq to get rid of Al Quaeda and their weapons of mass destruction, not to establish a Middle Eastern democracy.

Let the revision of history begin!

It's hard to be "spot on" when you generalize so much, and inflate with hyperbole.

Republican president: let's look at what history deals him.
    Democrat president: crucify him now!

Re: Why Democrats Hate Rush and a Stunner (for Libs) on "W"

I supported Bush and still like the guy and feel he handled things a hell of a lot better than a Democrat in office would have.

But I don't feel that the surge 'won' **** - all the surge did was drive the last active pockets of action FROM Iraq and into Iran and over to Pakistan and Afghanistan (and other places).

And once we 'surge' a psuedo victory in Afghanistan it won't be a tactical 'win' - it'll be another move on their part. They'll just MOVE again.

And then we'll follow - surge some more - and they'll move some more.

If anyone thinks we're reducing their numbers and ending their way of thinking and thriving then they're kidding theirselves and obviously oblivious to what's really going on.

Under Obama's oversight and direction (which is blind and nonexistent) they'll just explode in size and success - like a pack of wild boars. When someone who KNOWS a little bit of something about warfare and tactics finally is seated in office it'll be a damn good day - but it'll be a pain in the ass to correct all the many problem's that Obama's causing by being what he is and doing what he's doing.

It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now.

    Yeah, you started it.

If we're honest with ourselves, both parties to this to an equal degree.

    I think it's all wrong.

I think the most influential Conservative and Liberal should be a photo of a dark outline and then a question mark in the middle and read "Author, Journalist, Writer, or Pundit".

It seems that Americans, because of the attention and bastardizing, would put a figure like Dick Cheney on a lower tier of influence, than some PhD. writing for Politico, as an example.

This idea goes for books too. I've read some absolutely ghastly books with little to no sourcing and full with an agenda that precedes the research.

Ignore these talking heads and look directly at the subtle blasphemy that happens on a daily basis.

Bush does not deserve credit for the surge; all the credit should go to General Petraeus. Giving it to Bush would be like giving the credit of a National Championship team to the owner, instead of the Coach or players.

Conservatives who most influence American politics.
You do realize that "having an influence on American politics" isn't necessarily a good, positive thing, right?

Frankly, I'd put Cheney and bin Laden in a tie for the top position.
