Sarah Palin Can't Name A Founding Father

Although I don't agree with her politics I think the left nitpicks Palin unfairly at times.

Its like if you asked me what my favorite Zeppelin song is I may reply "All of them". Doesn't mean I don't know any of their songs.

Liberals don't understand her, and it scares them very much. They don't understand her appeal just like they don't understand most of America.

Do you think if you repeat this inane **** often enough, it might become true? No one on the left is the least frightened of her.

If some liberals think that Palin is so irrelevant, wouldn't it make sense for those liberals to stop paying attention to her and discussing her? Just wondering about that.

Did some liberal, some place, say that she was irrelevant? I don't remember seeing that.

I think she's relevant. But, not in the way that Republicans think she is.

Glen beck is a dick.

Watching this intelligent person impersonator, I am amazed that anyone, especially neo-cons, would want her anywhere near the power of the Presidency. (Do they really think they could manipulate her like they did Bush?) That "dear in the head lights" stare, as the styrofoam gears in her head try to churn up patriotic rhetoric, is soooo reminiscent of her trying to answer that other gotcha question, "What newspapers and magazines do you read?"

Even the Beckster can't stand it as he smirks at her inability to answer another simple gotcha question.

I just wish we had a video of her asking her handlers, "But... but... but, why again are there "two" Koreas?"
:doh

YouTube- Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin on the Founding Fathers

You do know that Neocons can disagree about policy and the election of certain public officials, right? For instance, David Frum was quite vocal against Sarah Palin.

Do you think if you repeat this inane **** often enough, it might become true? No one on the left is the least frightened of her.

Please. The left is frightened of her for her potential of becoming a leader. Let us not be ignorant of it. Is it partially why I stopped the prospect for voting for McCain? Yes.

Is it really that hard to admit she makes people nervous?

Lastly, I don't know whether or not Sarah Palin knows that much about the "Founding Fathers", but frankly, most people do not anyway (including elected officials). When most people speak about them, the mental image that protrudes is some sort of glorious collection of demigods who spoke in one harmonious voice-giving us the beginnings of our republic. In the grand scheme of things, it was impressive, but it was far from harmonious and far far from certain what direction to take the republic or whose opinion was far too radical in one direction or another.

To a degree, this whole point and laugh at Palin because she hesitated about the Founding Fathers gag is moronic because most people, including the elected officials know jack to begin with. It would practically take a lifetime for me to comfortably say I know a fantastic amount about these men, so let us not prepare to believe that we are somehow more informed or that many other elected officials can boast of having the intricate details of 18th and early 19th century American politics and political philosophy memorized and reflected.

Man that girl is an idiot. I wonder WTF she actually did in college, it doesn't seem like "went to class" is the answer to that one.

Sarah Baracuda, who can't tell you what she reads or name a founding father and faked her pregnancy, is relevant because she is dangerous. Imagine her as POTUS or VP. Scary. Imagine her negotiating with the leaders of N Korea, China, Iran, Venezuala (sp?). They'd listen to her for 5 minutes and determine that if America is stupid enough to elect an idiot like her then we are probably weak enough to be invaded ourselves.

THAT is why she is relevant.

And I say anyone promoting her, supporting her and voting for her does not have the good of the country in mind.

I wasn't quoting you for substance.. just to bring attention to your signature...
"Thank You Barack Obama for Restoring Honor To The Presidency.
President Obama will rank as one of our greatest presidents!"

Now THAT's Humor!

When my husband (who cannot stand Palin) saw the interview, he said to me, "I actually agree with her."

So your husband sat their like a deer caught in the headlights for an uncomfortable amount of time trying to think of a founding father of the US, only to come up with the easiest one?

This was a Glenn Beck interview, not one done by the "left" even he looked at her with a questioning face.

More of a disbelief look. He asked her a easy question. She and her supporters accused the media of asking her hard questions, thus she comes to Fox News as they will protect her. Still, they do have to at least pretend..so he asked a simple question and..chirp chirp chirp.. we found out almost any question is too hard for her. She thinks London is a Country..She thinks the 2nd Admendment protects her freedom of speech, which it can if your packing heat..

Absolutely NOT CC....we want to keep her in the spotlight. She represents the face of the NEW GOP. America should see what they stand for and who they are.

Sarah Palin makes Dan Quayle look like a Rhodes Scholar :doh

I think it would be really funny if a video camera were on some of the people in this thread for 16 hours out of a day and we youtubed every gaffe they made for going on two years straight for the pure sadistic amusement of getting as many people as possible to call them stupid as often as possible.

Hell, it'd be funny to sift through this forum and just put their stupid gaffes up in print.

But I just don't have the time or the commitment to petty childishness to do that to a human being. No matter how stupid they already come off.

Sort of like Jay Walking with Jay Leno.

But Palin is a public figure one that was close to the VP spot. As such she should be rather well prepared for a variety of questions for an interview. By god she was a beauty Pagent contestent, they get asked the inane questions all the time, she should not look like a deer caught in the headlights when it comes to a simple question.

GWB not knowing who the Pres of Pakistan was is somewhat forgivable, Palin taking a very long time to answer a simple question ( just pick one if you dont have one) is not a good sign of an ability to make decisions.

Is that like Obama saying we had 57 or 58 states? Or Biden being so unprepared that he nearly started a panic and a public transit boycott over swine flu? Or Rove misspeaking and saying Iraq when he meant Iran? Or any other number of human things that human beings do? How does being a public figure excuse or diminish our humanity?

Do you really think that Palin doesn't know who any of the founding fathers are? Or is it more likely that Palin simply got tongue-tied or caught in a moment of paralysis by analysis that is common to all of us?

No, Palin actually represents the old face of Today's GOP, but it is not where the GOP is headed. I feel pretty comfortable with the GOP now, because they are beginning to return to their roots. Palin, and idiots like her, will be pretty much on the sidelines by 2012. Of course, you can always disagree with me, in which case, I will then have to say that Michael Moore represents the Democratic party. LOL.

Why would you go that route when you have Howard "Hey Boo Boo" Dean, Harry "No Negro Dialect" Reid, and Nancy "Starkist" Pelosi to point to for a much greater statement?

If a question like that was able to instill a moment of paralysis by analysis then she has no place near public office. People will be aggressively questioning everything, and if she freezes up over meaningless questions like what papers do you read or who is your favorite founding father, then she'll have no ability to answer even tougher questions. But these sorts of things seem to be very habitual for her. Maybe once I could say she was unprepared or tongue-tied. But if it's consistent behavior, as seems to be the case, then it's a sign of something else. And that something else is related to intelligence and critical thinking.

Did I say her humanity was diminished?

No I did not

Rather that she is definately not qualified for public office higher then that of a School board

Whatever...the question 'chocolate or strawberry?' can catch me off guard and having to think about it depending on my mood. And who my favorite founding father is? Well, now that can definitely give me a good reason to stop and think.

And no, I don't believe this to be a consistent pattern of behavior for her as much as it is a consistent point of obsession for the PDS crowd to cackle over every time the sniff out a new one. She's no more prone to these types of things than any other human being on the planet.

For the sake of the party and the Country in general, I hope that you are correct. I don't have as much faith in the GOP that you do. I've watched them self-destruct over the last 2 decades.
It will be interesting to watch. Honestly, I don't see who the GOP has on a national level that is going to lead the party. Personally, I would like to see Romney, but beyond that......

C'mon Jall....they said the same thing about Dan Quayle and he like Palin....proved them wrong time and time again.
