"I have every intention of working with our international partners in lawless areas around the globe to make sure that we're keeping the American people safe," Obama said in a People interview to be published Friday. The magazine released a transcript Sunday.

"I never rule out any possibility in a world that is this complex... In countries like Yemen, in countries like Somalia, I think working with international partners is most effective at this point.

Yea, bull****ing****! Expect military draft talks to come up in the next few months. We'll be in Yemen, just not as fast as the Neocons want.

Does Obi's teleprompteur write for The Comedy network?

How's it worked so far?

Well, he claimed he would go into Pakistan to take 'em out... so this would be consistent... for once. The draft... LOL... sorry

Me thinks it's not quite the world Cinderella expected. With the waving of a hand an taking an oath... the world would change.

Pumpkin.

Lmao. There were no draft talks in 2003. There will be none in 2010. You will need a lot more than conspiracy theories. Not a JCS today would support a draft. It's ineffective and fills the military up with people who do not want to be there.

Yeah, and I highly doubt that the US will go into Yemen in any considerable fashion (especially if Obama has said they won't). Nobody wants Afghanistan 2 in Yemen when we're already having enough problems with the first war. Well ok, the military industrial complex would like it, but nobody else. Given the US debts you just can't afford it anyways.

Bring Back the Draft - Op-Ed - NYTimes.com

Though I suppose, regarding this, your statement is technically accurate as this is dated December 31, 2002.

No. If you read my statement in full context you'd see that I take Rangel's opinion as the same grain of salt as I do chevy's. Not once did the Bush administration consider a draft. It simply isn't something military advisers or anybody who's been in the military would advice. Why? Because it not only defeats the purpose of a volunteer army but creates problems in troop morale.

I guess a draft would bring in too many blacks right? We've heard this before that they are overrepresented.

Well, yeah - isn't that the truth according to the leftists in this country? I think the draft is a good thing in only one case... at least one "of age" member of Congress and the White House's immediate family must serve in a forward capacity in Yemen, Afghanistan or Iraq. They go through basic and must at least be garrisoned in country - right where the action is.

Wonder how long that draft would last then... especially since I would guess our government members family's representation would be well under-represented. Hell, let's give Nancy an M-14, some armor and a pair of boots - I'd pay to see that.

a draft would bring in "too many blacks"......?

what does THAT mean, and how would a draft do that?

Beats the hell out of me, but libs were bitching about it in the case of Vietnam. I think it was Rangel and that bunch at the time.

BTW, everyone should know by now that Obama's word is his bond.

......What are you ranting about?

He is confused about the old draft rules(exemptions for attending college) with the newer draft rules(no such exemption), and thinking he is somehow making a point. On the plus side, ignorant rants are amusing.
