Speaking somberly and forcefully from the White House, Obama said the government had "sufficient information" to have potentially disrupted the attack, but that the intelligence community "failed to connect those dots." He spoke of the "the human and systemic failures that almost cost nearly 300 lives," and he vowed, "we will do better."

He was more blunt in a private meeting with top advisers just before he spoke before the cameras: "This was a screw up that could have been disastrous. We dodged a bullet but just barely. It was averted by brave individuals, not because the system worked, and that is not acceptable."

It's nice to have a president who can recognize the obvious, and state it publicly. Our Homeland Security Administration has no clothes.
 
Wow. Not trying to sugar-coat things causes me to respect him a little bit more than I otherwise would have. Fair-play to him.

Also, he blamed the intelligence community, an organization he's been trying to destroy since he took office, and there was no suggestion that the buck stops at the Messiah's Altar.

Leave it to our intelligence and Napalitano's team to screw this up. In fact, leave it to this administration for not taking a harder stand on terrorism. Maybe they'll wake up after hearing some disdain from the G20 summit, General McCrystal and the general public.

Or it could be that this President refuses to take the war on terror seriously and that reality has caused others to follow that lead. Obama is in trouble over this issue and yet his supporters do not get it.

Barack Obama went around the world apologizing for everything this country has done in the past and yet our enemies still do not like us. Wow, imagine that, evil in the world that doesn't like this county or what we stand for.

Keep carrying the water for Obama and his enept Administration giving him credit for giving us more rhetoric while ignoring the problem we have, an enemy that will not accept Obama's apology and an enemy that hates what we stand for.
