Stupid bitch, jumped the Pope. Doesn't she know they don't vote Pope's in till they're frail as hell.

BTW, Tashah you sexy devil!

Probably an act of terrorism.

This made international news? I guess it is pretty sensational.

Indeed ... the pope was pope-slapped.

How sad!

This is what happens when the pope wears axe body spray.

*sigh* He should have known better.

That was certainly a disappointing video. Very poor quality. Looks like there were some folks with better cameras, there must be a better video than this one.

Yeah but I guess they haven't put it up on the internet, once they see this story they might though.

I'm actually kind of happy, I laughed pretty hard when I saw that woman topple him over.

If you dress like a bowling pin you should expect to get toppled!

Seriously it's really not funny but I saw this joke and just had to post it.:

Apparently he is fine but the Cardinal is the one that fractured his hip. What was her intend after she tackled him?

From what I've heard she tried and failed last Christmas dressed in the same outfit. Sounds to me like his security has some explaining to do.

Why would you be happy? It's one thing if you don't agree with Catholicism (I'm Catholic and have some serious issues, with my church but wouldn't find myself in glee if someone injures an old man. What could this octagarian have done to make you happy he could have been potentially seriously injured?

I agree. He's a very intellectual man who is a good man and hasn't harmed anyone. Why do people wish him ill?

Just because man, just because ...

i find it funny that someone tackled the pope, but not that someone tackled an elderly man

Perpetuating homophobia and condemning the use of condoms in the fight against AIDS has the potential to cause serious harm, however indirectly. He is a particularly polarizing figure and it's no surprise people wish him harm. It doesn't give me any pleasure to see an elderly man physically hurt, but I won't lose any sleep over it.

The woman was obviously nutty as a fruitcake. Since the pope wasn't hurt, and since he is in to forgiveness, the natural thing is for this woman to get the help she needs to overcome her mental illness.

This kind of thing is vapid. This criticism focuses on the part of Catholic teaching which is against birth control, but completely ignores the other part of it, which is not to have the sex outside of marriage in the first place.

(As if religious doctrine is what keeps people from using condoms, anyway. )

She tried this last year, but she moved for the barrier too soon and was caught. They'll have to stop meeting like this, people will talk!

Excellent point!

Everytime I see this post I think it says "Cell phone video shows woman topless"

I will guarantee you that of the most prominent reasons people have for not using condom is the teachings of their churches and the influence of their old religion. Africa and South America, where the Catholic Church is still a powerful force(not so much so in Africa due to a growth in baptist churches but still signficant) this is most certainly the case in both Muslim AND Christians. This stranglehold that religions like Islam and Christianity have coupled with the undying and even more socially entwined customs of their old religions have created a pool of ignorance in Africa and South America.

When you have witch doctors on one side telling you that AIDS can be cured by screwing virgins and your pastors telling you not to have premarital marriage and BOTH groups failing to educate the population on venereal diseases, you get Africa and South America's current situation.

It is a conglomerate of many factors but have no doubt that religion is essential to explaining how it all comes together.
