Health Care Deal Reached?
Senate Democrats said "they have sent some health care proposals to the Congressional Budget Office for cost estimates, although they studiously avoiding saying they had a deal," Roll Call reports.
However, CNN quotes Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) saying they have reached "broad agreement" but declined to release details.
No one is certain what the agreement is, but the New York Times and the AP say it "rejects" the public option while the Washington Post calls it a "public option compromise."
Importantly, Reuters quotes Reid saying that reports the government-run "public option" had been dropped were "not true."

AP says deal reached to kill Public Option in Senate bill, in favor of buy-in to Medicare at age 55. Reuters says no, no deal reached.
I am getting weary of this debate. I can barely even follow it anymore. And this was my number one issue in the last election - getting Health Care reform, as debated/discussed/campaigned upon endlessly in the Democratic primaries, then through the general election campaign (although the primary campaign debates on the issue were more substantive, IMO).
Also, Nelson's throwing a hissy fit about his abortion amendment. Boxer's saying oh yea, how about if we cut off Viagra for men
It's like a big, fat cluster****. Congresscritters jockeying for this, grabbing for that, lying about this, lying about that. I'm just tired of all of it.
