Watch.

Tell me, what is up with this guy, do any of you take him as an unbiased newsman?

He was talking about them being a political enemy camp for Obama.

I think it was a poor use of words, but I understand what he was saying. He was not suggesting that West Point was the enemy, or home of the enemy, but that it is more conservative than the general population, ad as such less of a friendly reception.

I take Chris Matthews as an award winning and well respected political commentator. I think he was accurate in his observation that the West Point audience is politically conservative.

You don't view his as hyper-biased at all? :ssst:

Matthews has a point of view.

With regard to Obama's speech last night, Matthews said Obama failed: “it sounds more ‘Rube Goldberg’ than ‘Remember the Alamo!’”

What a stupid thing to say. Unfortunately this only perpetuates the myth that the military and its supporters are all anti-Democrat and that Democrats are unfriendly to the military.
I've never been a Chris Matthews fan myself....this just adds more reasons why I'm not.

Saying that West Point is not a friendly environment for a liberal president to make his point? You disagree?

I do. do you think they would have acted in any other way than at the utmost respect?

How sad a commentary it is for the commnder in chief to have those he commands viewed as "Enemy territory"...

This is now our media, Hannity, Matthews, it is a national embarressment.

Lady Ga Ga for president, 2012.

There is a difference between respect for office, and agreeing with the message or messenger. Being in the military does not make you apolitical.

Nor does it make you the "enemy camp"

I addressed that already.

So Chris Matthews saying that West Point was the ‘enemy camp’ was attack against the cadets and faculty?

That would be a huge stretch. I hope even the good Rev is not trying to suggest such.
